  The Anne Report

The Anne Report

Dear ,

Hello from the Charleston, SC area. I’m leaving today after a successful house-hunting trip. I signed a contract and expect our new home to be completed in the fall. Summer’s Corner is a planned community outside Summerville. Our realtor wrote a contract in the morning, wrote our contract in the afternoon, and had another one she had to put off until the next day. That is a hot seller’s market. I made out a list of everything I wanted in a home, thinking this could never be, but our new home has everything I dreamed about. I told my grandson, Thomas, about buying a house. He responded, “You are going to have to work very hard to pay for that.” Since our home in The Woodlands closes in May, we will hang out in our RV until the house is complete.

Jim and I spent our anniversary and Valentine’s Day apart. I look forward to our makeup day when I get home. We’ve found that time together is the key to a relationship. Remember the story of the three bears. Goldilocks tasted of three bowls of partridge and found the contents of one bowl too hot, one too cold, and one bowl just right. Too much together time might be too hot; no time together is too cold; but there’s a sweet spot where there’s just enough together and alone time. We aim for the sweet spot, and when we are lucky, we hit it. Relationships are like taking Miracle Grow and pouring it into your character flaws. It takes constant work to maintain a relatively happy relationship.

R.I.P. or RIP?

Deep within there is a knowing. It calls to us. Its wisdom is ancient, and it is threaded in every breath. It is a truth that flagrantly violates our assumptions and knocks down inflated self-images. This is not a true or false kind of truth. It is not a “you’re wrong and I’m right” kind of truth. This truth cannot be argued. It is a force that rips through thought spells and delivers us to a higher standard of beholding life. Don’t let it go unnoticed. Don’t let it rip the truth from its rightful owners because we are those owners. Let’s take this truth and let it rest in us. I know, I dwell on this subject frequently. Wake up; connect; be present; be aware. Why would I do this? Because if each day is like the day before, and our minds move in frequent, familiar directions, we are asleep. We suffer from a mental illness. It’s not the standard kind of mental illness. It’s not diagnoseable in the DSM. It’s a mind that’s so starved, it can only operate in survival mode. It is a mind separated from its soul; a piece of our self-proclaimed identity, that is severed from our source. Maybe these will be the words, these words that you are reading right now, that will get through. Words can be alarm clocks for the soul. Hopefully when they go off, we don’t hit the snooze alarm.

Did you ever notice that the acronym for rest in peace is RIP? Of course you have. It’s a standard in our lexicon of acronyms. I’m playing with words now; please give me leeway. Maybe we shouldn’t rest in peace (rip). Perhaps we should let ’er rip. When we lay aside our preconceived notions of how everything should be, like down to the hue of our yard grass, we find a space that nurtures adventure and exploration. If I had two choices, to rest in peace, RIP, or let ’er rip, it would not be a tough choice. I would let ’er rip. I would explore new directions and new thoughts. I would use my mental floss and relinquish my truth decay. The following story, excerpted from my book, Words Make a Difference, illustrates the power of words. Sometimes one word is enough to rip away our limits.

Once a young woman had a protective brother. He would not allow her to pursue her spiritual inclinations, so each night she climbed through her window and quietly made her way to her guru’s home. She was captivated by the truth he spoke. She excelled in meditation and spiritual disciplines and was told that on her next visit, she would receive enlightenment.

A nosy neighbor ran into her brother at the market. “You think your sister is so chaste. She leaves your house at night, when you sleep, and goes to meet her lover.”

The brother didn’t believe his neighbor, so the next night he followed his sister. She approached a strange house and entered. His heart was heavy; he felt betrayed. He peered in the window and saw his sister approach the master. At that very moment the master uttered the words that would bring ultimate peace and enlightenment to his sister. The guru heard a rattle at the window and turned and saw the brother. The brother heard the words and fell to the ground in supreme bliss. He made his way inside to the master and through tears of ecstasy, thanked him. He fell to his sister’s feet in gratitude. Just one or two words, spoken with power and authority, awakened the highest in the brother. He had done no practices and no preparation, but the words pierced his heart.

You are that brother. May these words and thoughts bring peace, power, ease, and joy. Let them rip away the false. Allow these words to pierce the heart right now, as they drift past the mind. Surely it is our time. We can come without preparation or after a lifetime of anticipation and spiritual practice, but verily, verily, I say unto you, come now, awaken now, and if you do, everything will be EZier and EZier.

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight video for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches those videos becomes a part of the prosperity team.

You too can join the Prosperity Team by watching Anne’s Dr. Money channel.
