The Anne Report
Dear ,
I feel like I am standing between the Great Pause and the Great Eraser. My life is on pause because of the virus, but also because we are between homes. My past references to life have been erased and I am undergoing radical reinvention. As the inventor, I am stymied because of all the external paperwork and hoops I must go through to take care of the physical, especially when the physical requires a lot of maintenance.
One of my favorite stories is about a man, Hafiz, who wanted to learn to meditate. Hafiz found a master who became a guiding force in his life. When he was ready, the master took him to a cave where he could live, eat, and be fully focused. Someone left food outside the cave daily; therefore, he was able to stay focused and mediate with little interruption. Things went well until he noticed one day that a rat had taken up residence in the cave. He got a cat to chase away the rat. When he realized the cat needed milk, he bought a cow. The cow needed milking, so he employed a milkmaid. The milkmaid was lovely, Hafiz fell in love with her, and they married. They had a child. One day the master came to find Hafiz. He saw a farm and inquired, “Have you seen Hafiz? He is in the cave on your property, meditating.” Hafiz rejoiced, “Oh, master, it is me!” The master was taken aback, “What happened?” he exclaimed. Hafiz replied, “Well, there was this rat!”
There is a rat in my life too! My body is healing, and I am in negligible pain. Dealing with Medicare, SS, Kelsey-Seybold, Physician’s Mutual, and trying to get settled is the rat in my life. It is complicated. I calm myself by reading things I have written. It works well when I am on hold. Most of the things I write for the newsletter are written for myself anyway. Reading them calms me.
Everything is in a standstill until I can get a new insurance plan. My medical insurance is canceled at the end of the month. My HMO insurance plan was tied to where I lived. My records are packed in storage in Houston, so it has been time-consuming to get my Medicare number and all sorts of other information I needed to change insurance plans in the middle of the year.
And that’s it for the Anne Report.

Everything Can Be EZ or at Least EZier
My life is rapidly and continuously falling apart and back together. Alvin Toffler’s prediction of future shock came to pass at the turn of this century, and since then we have been trying to steady ourselves. We try to de-stress and manage the pitfalls of contemporary living as we stumble into more stress.
Once my son-in-law spoke with my grandson Reynolds when he was standing on a chair: “Sit down; you are going to crack your head open.” Reynolds responded, “What would happen if I cracked it closed?”
What he imagined was a paradigm shift. He moved the discussion from the logic of protection and concern to the idealism of possibility and imagination. He probably did not understand the literal meaning of his dad’s words. He responded with his best logic, which was colored with ingenuity. My friend Karen recently reminded me of the openness of the quantum theory. Quantum theory reveals a field of infinite possibilities. We can participate in this field through our mind and imagination. Reynolds’ young mind was there. He did not need coaching to be open to a more innocent and open way of looking at things.
My life is a bit shaky because the familiar ground I stood on is either gone or quaking. My home is sold, my car is wrecked, my stamina is lower than normal, and my health is questionable. I would like some solid ground to land on, but suppose there is no solid ground. Maybe I need the same kind of thinking that my grandson applies to his world. Maybe I am not cracking open; I am cracking closed. Maybe I was never meant to stand on solid ground, but to live in a living river of change, freshness, and possibility.
The highest possibility, when we face adversity, is to question the ground from which we view it. Maybe we do not need to view it as good or bad. Maybe we need a bit of curiosity. My friend, who ministers in a Unity Church, was given notice that she could no longer hold free services at a certain location. The landlord proposed a fee that was beyond the means of the church. She announced the change of policy one Sunday morning and said, “I’m very interested to see what’s going to happen next and how this is going to work out.” She did not take ownership of the situation. She was curious. Yes, she did hunt for a new location, but she hunted with the belief that she was guided along to the next perfect location. She found a place that worked and when the person whose space she leased moved, she moved with him. Then came the COVID-19 virus and now the service is on Zoom. Now, she does not even need a place.
I am not trying to minimalize the difficulties of life, but I strongly suggest that even the most difficult situations can be EZier when we look at them though quantum lenses. Quantum lenses just look. Quantum vision takes away the added suffering and drama that the ego instigates. My friend, Emily, is going in for surgery today. She has many physical challenges and procedures to deal with. Last week, she sat, overwhelmed, at a pre-op appointment, and queried, “How did I get through my last cancer.” She remembered how she was radically present, open, and non-judgmental about what was going on. She moved from a fear space to one of pure presence. She was at peace. She could do it again. She didn’t have to face the future; she just needed to stay present.
As I write about living in the now, I think, “People are getting tired of the same old speech. Be here now, yada, yada.” I remember a newsletter I wrote about 35 years ago, about living in the now. A friend, who was close to death, sent a donation to support the newsletter. She was touched. “All I have is now. I can’t look forward and I have to make this precious time count.” Our egoic mind pulls at our present and works to snatch it away. It feeds on the difficult situations and turns them into nightmares. Most of us are not facing imminent death, or even tragedy, but when we allow each moment to prominently stake a claim in our lives, we can be sure that our lives will be EZier and EZier.

Abundance Affirmations
This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight video for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches those videos becomes a part of the prosperity team.
You too can join the Prosperity Team by watching Anne’s Dr. Money channel.
