  The Anne Report

The Anne Report

Dear ,

It has been a unique two weeks. I attended the virtual Theosophical Society of America conference two weekends ago and the virtual International Theosophy Conference this past weekend. People came up with some wonderful ideas about how we could create intimacy in our online meetings. How about virtual coffee chat rooms to recreate our in-person chats? How about having a webcam displaying, in the virtual coffee rooms, with items of interest, such as a hatching a bird or a lava flow?

My grandsons, who are six, are attending a virtual birthday party as I write this. Life as we know it has changed. Though meeting in person has many advantages, going online has tweaked our imagination. The boys are doing an art project in the house, as the other party goes to work from home on their projects.

My friend Daphne found this site on the web. It is Window Swap. It is a live view from people’s windows. You can virtually look through windows all over the world! Right now, it is pouring rain in New York City, a tabby cat wags her tail in Italy, traffic speeds down an inner-city thoroughfare in Istanbul, Turkey, and the wind blows softly in Helsinki, Finland. I am impressed with the ingenuity of people who have more time than ever to connect.

We visited our home this morning. The siding nears completion and the drywall stands by naked beams. The dock renewal project at my daughter’s home is completed and I saw 10 ibises on the dock today. It was a welcome sight, after sitting on my bum for a few hours.

The Heal Anne Project continues Thursdays from 1:30 PM EDT to 1:45 PM EDT. Prayer, good thoughts, If you can give a few minutes to dissolving a kidney tumor on my left kidney. I would appreciate it. Thank you, everyone, for the emails and support from last week. Here is a video I have used for many days that speaks to natural healing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqsN12G56-s

And that’s it for the Anne Report.

Courage

I have done some unusual things in my life. At this time, I will not go into the story about teaching a mafia hit man to meditate. In my defense, I knew him as a college professor and an aide to a senator and had no idea of his third job. People in some countries have several jobs since all the jobs are low-paying. We were in the Philippines.

At the top of my unusual experience list is that of successfully walking on fire. It was an empowering experience, though before I walked, I could imagine the emergency room doctor asking me how I received third degree burns on my feet. It is amazing how many thoughts flitted across my mind in the minute I stood before coals that were so hot they could melt metal. As we stood before a 20-foot bed of red hot coals, we were to ask ourselves one question, “Do I walk or not?” If we received a no, we were told to abort our plans. The leader, Christina Thomas-Frasier, told us the process was designed to get us in touch with our intuitive selves. Some people did not walk, but I was clear that it was mine to do. I believed in mind over matter and knew I could do it. I was the first in our group to walk. When I got to about the middle of the bed of 1,000+ degree red hot coals, I had a thought, “This isn’t anything. Anyone can do this. This is not special.” Ego just loves to ruin the show!

A few days after my sizzler debut I talked with my father via phone. He asked what I had been doing, and I decided not to tell him that I had walked on fire. While the experience was powerful, I thought it too out there for a regular guy like my father to handle. Then I thought, “Don’t you think your dad would be interested in your accomplishing such a feat?” I told him. He was impressed, and my fear was unfounded.

I heard of fire walking long before I walked on fire. I was amazed, if not enchanted, that people could not be burned while amid hot coals. The hottest fire walk recorded was 1,750 degrees. That is the temperature used for cremation.

Although I had my doubts about the difficulty of the feat, the experience made me feel like a giant. If I could walk on fire, then I could do anything. It took courage to walk that fire, and I must say fear stood its ground. It yacked its way through the entire experience. The day of that fire walk, I became an advocate for the saying, “Feel the fear and do it anyway.”

Christina told us that it took courage not to walk. Every participant was there to walk. It might seem that they let their fear rule them if they decided not to walk, but perhaps not. They may have needed the courage to go against the grain, to risk ridicule, or failure. No one would judge the person who did not walk. It was the person who chose not to walk that must deal with another kind of fear.

Most people tend to do what is safe. While one might be a daredevil motorcycle rider, that same person will not allow themselves to be loved. One might climb Kilimanjaro, but they will not ask for help. While it might take some courage to walk fire, and, I admit, fire-walking is intense, matters of the heart require much more courage. We all have our hold outs. The root word for courage is “cor.” It means from the heart. We think of courage as meaning that people can face danger without fear, but if the root of the word means heart, then true courage is an emotional quality, that comes from a truly inspired place. I heard that voice before I walked on fire. It was a wordless comfort that ensured me that I was safe. The fire walk was a calling for me, and, in some way, that at-risk moment moved me out of the world of my making, into the world of wisdom and wonder. After more than 35 years, I still call on those moments for courage. In those moments I walked through the fires of life while holding hands with the best in me. With doubts overlooking my shoulder, I stepped onto hot coals, and in that moment I walked over my deepest fears. I do not advocate fire walking, though it is cool, but we do need to take chances, because when we do not, we dry up. Our enthusiasm for life fizzles and we become the walking dead. The question that calls us to courage is, “What am I to do in this minute, in this day, in this week, and in my life?” Maybe the courage starts small, with offering kindness and appreciation when we think we get none ourselves. Maybe courage is being patient with a mate, but whatever it is, courage is about moving the heart. Courage is an essential element of spiritual living, and without it, we confuse ego’s sense of safety with real living. Life offers us its best, and when we accept life and her blessings with courage, our lives become EZier and EZier. I do not know what your courageous moment calls you to do, but you do, and when you answer that call, you move your heart, and live your life’s mission.

Suppose someone told you that you could change your life radically, for the better, if you spent just three minutes a day doing inner work? Would you believe it? Maybe not, but wouldn't it be worth an investment of three minutes a day to try it?

The Living Book offers just this. Devote three minutes a day to this process and your life will become a living testimony to the seed principle. A tiny seed can grow into a mighty tree, but it must be planted. Plant your daily seed for three short minutes and notice both subtle and miraculous changes in your life. In addition to the daily practice, one can use the process when they are stumped or afraid or angry. This process transforms anger into love. When we plant seeds of light into our thoughts and emotional bodies, we move into higher frequencies of well-being.

The Living Book, by Anne Sermons Gillis. Paperback $4.95 plus $3.00 shipping. PDF Download $0.99. Kindle Book $2.99.

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight video for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches those videos becomes a part of the prosperity team.
