Will You Marry Me?

Will you marry me? Not in the conventional sense. I mean will you think of me with love, respect me, and value me in my mistakes or in my brightness. Will you think good thoughts about me and say wonderful things about me? Think about your answer. If your answer is "yes" then we can have a wonderful union.

I know it's not up to you to make me feel good,  so I'll just commit to love you, think good thoughts about you and continue to respect you even when you are snarky and make a mistake. I know we may only be cyber friends, so why would I speak of such emotional intimacy? How many times do we cater to a voice that cares what others think? As in "What will they think?" These people we worry about may be friends or maybe unknown personages.

If I am going to have thoughts about people I don't know or my friends, and what they may think of me or my ideas, I might as well think they love me and are on my side. See my point? I benefit in two ways. I get too feel how it feels to send out love and affection and in my imagination I can receive it as well.

All that said. Will you marry me? You are also invited to the reception that will immediately follow the ceremony. It's a celebration. And remember, until further notice, celebrate everything.

      Now for Another Wedding

By now you probably know my daughter is getting married May 11. I am in the state of getting ready and we leave early Monday morning for Charleston, SC. The "we" includes my husband, Jim, and our dog, Lucy. We have rented a dog friendly house in Charleston for her. By the time you read this we will be safely nestled in our temporary home -  but, since I wrote this on May the 4th and scheduled it to go out of May 8, we will already be there. I love the high tech world.  I want to share this clever short video Elizabeth's friends, Kristen and Sven Phillips made for her.

Nonstick Cooking Pans

Recently I ate and grilled almond cheese sandwich. This was cheese made from almonds. I found the almond cheese at a specialty store. I used almond cheese, sprouted grain bread, organic mayo, cherry tomatoes, rosemary and arugula. I grilled them on my flat bed iron skillet and it was really good. I don't use those grills like George Forman because they have plastic linings. Any grill or any cookware with Teflon or any other plastic is off limits to me.

Here's Dr. OZ's take:

Toxic Trouble Spot: Nonstick pans

A few years ago, word got out that you should ditch any Teflon pans with coatings that were peeling or chipped, because they leech unhealthy chemicals into your food. Now experts say that even new pans can put your health at risk if you overheat them. Nonstick pans contain perfluorinated chemicals that are released into the air at a certain temperature. These chemicals can block the action of estrogen in our bodies (possibly damaging fertility), harm your lungs and have even been known to kill pet birds whose cages were kept in kitchens.

Sleep and Grow Thin

A recent study shows that thin people get 2 more hours sleep per week than those who hold extra weight. Researchers believe that the lack of sleep results in hormonal changes that make you gain weight. People who don't sleep well have lower levels of appetite boosting hormone gherlin. That means if you could get just 17 more minutes a day sleep you could lose weight. Thanks to Prevention magazine for that information
