  A Note From Anne

Dear ,

I hope you are off to a good start this week and that you are opening to more joy. It’s all around, but we have to notice. It just might be time to drink the Kool Aid; I just mean it’s time to stop being so serious.

It’s familiar to be imprisoned under our “to do” list and our need for drama, but it’s never too late for now. It’s never too late to stop suffering, do an about face, and join in the joy.  What would it take for you to get off the train wreck we call the road to success and just relax? How much of what you are doing is really making a difference? Can you do less of it?

Less is more, and in this fast-paced merry-go-round world, can you stop for ten minutes and do nothing? Just asking! Can you give up the fidgeting, reading, texting, e-mailing, TV watching, Internet surfing, or calling someone for ten miracle minutes? I dare you. Be quite for 10 minutes and focus on life’s magic. Sending you ease for the week. You can do it. You can make your life easier.

Love,

Anne

Inspired words carry an energy that opens into other dimensions. I can read a good poem and if I contemplate the words and essence of the work, I find myself speaking and thinking poetically or perhaps I will write a poem. The poem not only warms me, it touches my soul and its influence keeps deepening. A good book, music, and art can affect us the same way. We can join into the energy of the particular art form and can be transported into love, suspense, compassion, or anger.

These dimensions or realms of consciousness have spaces that serve as containers – they are somewhat like reservoirs. There are reservoirs of love, hate, power, judgment, and creativity. There are multitudes of these spaces.

Individuals create personal energetic spaces that fill with emotions and thoughts. You've probably heard someone who can go into a rant and they say almost the same thing each time they go into that angry righteous monologue. If you have a personal container of irritation and defensiveness, your thought and feeling forms seek larger containers of like vibration that are held in the collective unconsciousness. If you are frequently annoyed, you will eventually fall down the rabbit hole and join with a larger, more adsorptive space of anger. Personal negativity seeks negativity and finds it in the collective realm. Conversely, if you keep your mind and mood more focused on the present, you tend to open to the more refined universal energies.

Life is a collection of beauty, love, grace, and blessing. We die to life when we focus on fear. Fear is bigger than we might think because it is a shared view of life. Fear is fascinating to the ego. The ego loves to keep fear around to justify inertia. "I
'm a scared little rabbit; you can’t expect anything worthwhile or brilliant from me."

When fear is our constant companion, we join into the collective consciousness realm of horror. I
' ve been deep into this realm. It is the space Christians call hell. Most people who go there don’t do this consciously; it is more of an experience of deep depression, but for some weird reason, I happened into this space one night. It reminded of Jesus' 40 days in the wilderness. I was shaken, and by staying present and holding the thought "I Am," I was able to get out. Fortunately I became more fearless after this experience – I had been to hell and back and survived. I survived an archetypal fear pattern.

Fear seeks and finds fear, but the same principle, like seeking like, serves us and activates amazing grace. When we practice love, stay present, and stop judging life, it’s like a free fall into our good. Our definition of good expands and circumstances that previously we saw as limiting, we see now experience as life affirming.

We all do the best job we can in life. We are okay regardless of our experiences or behaviors. We will, however, experience consequences based on our behavior. Some call it karma; the court system might call it punishment. We don’t escape repercussions from our behaviors, thoughts, and feelings until we turn toward the light. The light is compassion, understanding, surrender, gentleness in the face of harshness, letting go of a personal agenda, and serving that which is greater.

The point is that when we bask in fear, irritation, judgment, when we hold grudges and prejudices, we suffer not only personal pain but we dip into a larger hell-like realm. I
'm not talking about saying a negative word or having a bad thought; I' m talking about the negative energy we put out. Fortunately most of us have the ability to snap out of it. We can withdraw from these mental and emotional habits by observing ourselves and then listening to the inner call. We all have it. It is a call to the Self. It is the call for us to recognize who we are. It is a call to our good, and it shouts through every situation we encounter. If you cannot see the good in your life, it is because you are asleep to your Self, but if you intend to change and give up your fixation with drama, life will respond swiftly and decisively. You know when you reached your personal point of surrender, and if you will yield to its call, your life will surface and the adventure will start again. It's never too late for now. And now is your point of power. Rest in it.

  Health Tip: Witch Hazel

I recently downloaded a book that features four home remedies: coconut oil, apple cider vinegar, tea tree oil, and witch hazel. I use three of them, but don’t remember using witch hazel since I was a child.

When I was in LA with my sister, she had witch hazel wipes everywhere. Is witch hazel a good addition to any medicine cabinet? If I could remember to buy some, I feel certain it would be!

Since I found out the down side of alcohol, I’ve been using hydrogen peroxide. iIt seems that witch hazel is an antibacterial as well and is effective on cuts and wounds. Think razor cuts. It soothes the cut and reduces swelling. It even speeds up healing and reduces scarring. It is astringent that can reduce the size of pores and absorb oil excess face oil while leaving the skin moisturized.

Witch hazel soothes diaper rash, shrinks under-eye bags or puffiness, heals sunburn, helps varicose veins, hemorrhoids, and even more. It sounds like snake oil, but I think I’ll try some. I might feel better with a witch than with some doctors. I’m still reeling over the statistic that the number 1 cause of death in our country is medical intervention.

Do you think if I drank witch hazel I could recapture the memory I had at 25? Maybe I can get some RbAp48, referred to in the following article. I don’t think you can actually take the stuff, but the research on memory and the brain is amazing. Science may have a cure!

  Reader Feedback

"Perfect Timing: Perfect Order” is tested by reader

Last week I spoke of using the mantra “Perfect Timing; perfect Order.” This feedback (with the reader's permission) speaks to the power of surrendering to the now, letting go of control, and allowing the Universe to do its work.

Reader Response

Thank you, Anne, for this message. I practiced your mantra this morning during my yoga/meditation session. I had an intention for this; my intention was to meet up with the Senior Director of Human Resources whom I have wanted to meet up with for the last three weeks or so. I said to myself that if it is meant to happen, it will happen in perfect order; perfect timing.

I went to work as usual and today I had errands to run at lunch time. My last stop before returning to work was the post office located on Rodgerdale and Westheimer. I did what I had to do at the post office and walked out to my car only to find out that it wouldn’t start! Thank God for AAA; surprisingly enough they arrived within 20 minutes of the call.

The AAA driver tested my battery and confirmed that it was the battery. Unfortunately he did not have the right battery on hand for my car. He had to get someone to deliver it to him. That was another 20-minute wait.

My car could not have stalled at a better place. I had a place to sit and wait; inside the post office (where it was cool); next to a large window overlooking the parking lot (where I could keep an eye on my car). I could have been by the roadside, with no shade or place to sit in 90 degree weather!

Since I had an extended lunch break, I stayed late to finish up some work. I finished a little after 6:00 pm and decided to check to see if the Senior Director of HR was still around. Sure enough he was and asked him if he had ten minutes to spare. He affirmed and I told him I would be up to see him shortly. He sits on a floor where the doors are secured and in order to enter, you have to call from a phone in the waiting area. I called and no one was answering the phone. So now, I am standing outside the glass doors hoping someone with access would walk in or someone from inside would walk out. At that moment, I repeated the mantra again; perfect order, perfect timing. Just as I finished saying it mentally, the elevator doors upon and the cleaning crew appeared! How perfect! I was let in by the cleaning crew and had a very fruitful meeting with the Senior Director.

Thank you Anne once again for sharing. Perfect order, Perfect timing will be my new mantra. So often we (I) get anxious, wanting things to happen in a certain way at a certain time. This mantra is a good reminder that the Universe has its own timing and we have to be patient.

  Ask Annie G

Dear Annie G,

I love desserts, but I’m trying to clean up my diet and I want to eat healthier foods. Do you have a recipe that might satisfy my sweet tooth, and provide nutrition?

Susan

Dear Susan,

I love stuffed dates. They are not the healthiest dessert one might eat, but they will satisfy your sweet tooth and give you some nutrition as well. Health wise, it’s much better than a candy bar or brownie.

Take one pitted date and insert a pecan half (any nut will do). At this point, the nut should be hidden in the date. Dip the stuffed date in dark melted chocolate. Cool for a few minutes and eat. It’s delicious. Make two stuffed dates per person if you are serving them after a meal.

Thanks for asking,

Annie G
