A Note From Anne
Dear ,
I hope you had a great Valentine's Day. It was my 11th anniversary. My husband and I met in 1998 and married in 2013. I was a little sheepish when I asked if we might consider Valentine's Day for our ceremony. Jim didn't blink an eye when I asked, and as luck had it, VD was on Saturday that year.
This anniversary, we spent the evening with dear friends. We had dinner and listened to some Texas music. We are Teri Hendrix and Lloyd Maines fans. I guess we are groupies. We love to hear them when they are in the area.
I love the longer days. Spring already whispers in my ear, and rain falls outside in a hypnotic splatter. Today I'm doing a cleansing fast. Maybe I am a little grouchy, yet I'm grateful for life's pleasure. I hope things are going better than you expected and that you are making and taking life easier.

Ego Obituary
The Ego died February 14, 2014. Ego's remains may be viewed from 5 PM to 7 PM Wednesday night at the Drama Rama. The memorial service follows the viewing. The Ego leaves his relatives, the Drama Queens, The Hypocrites, the Rebels, and the Pot Shots. The Ego's cousin, the Phantom of the Soap Opera, took its last stand on Monday, only two days before the Ego's reduction. Both the Ego and the Phantom of the Soap Opera were inside the mind. They were both known to be trouble makers.
Ego was born in Darkville, MessOneChoices on Darkcember 12, 1948. He was educated at the school of Hard Knocks, where he earned an MSU (messes stuff up) degree. He was a Certified Cheater, a mismanagement counselor, and a licensed death coach. He developed Murphy's Law by the age of 23 and was awarded the prestigious MUC (Managing Under Chaos) Award in 1972 by the International Chronic Cynicism Community. He coined the famous phrase, "Life's a Bitch and Then You Die." He was an outstanding contributor in the field of mental disease. He was noted for driving people away, destroying trust, trying to get praise, his burning desire to be right, offending others, being prideful, having no consideration for others' feelings, and for creating crisis. No doubt he was a leader in his field.
The service will be conducted by the Drama Lama, who was the Ego's spiritual advisor. Ego, affectionately called Egor, was a devoted member of the First That Yoke is Broke Church for 35 years. The service will be on the grave side.
Please do not send flowers. Send donations to the American Hard Association, an association dedicated to reducing hard attacks.
Quotes
"Our Divine Design is not a plan for specific
activities. It's designed to help us fully embody
love."
– Anne Sermons Gillis
"When you get your sense of worth from what you do,
every mistake you make is potentially devastating.
When your sense of worth comes from who you really
are, mistakes can be acknowledged and easily dealt
with, without defense or shame."
– Anne Sermons Gillis
Food for thought. Have a thought
recall! "I recall all vindictive and hurtful
thoughts that I’ve had for myself or others. We are
innocent and from this thought forward, we are free
from the effects of past painful thoughts, words,
and actions."
– Anne Sermons Gillis

What people are saying about Standing in the Dark:
"Standing in the Dark, by Anne Sermons
Gillis, isn't just another positive thinking book.
It's a book about the difficult times in life and

however, give us positive ways to make life easier.
It's a short book, but it's one that may just turn
your thinking on its head, which will probably be
the best thing that's happened to your thinking in
a long time. It's about how to bring more ease into
a life that isn't easy all of the time. Anne
discusses six main areas of life: Ease, Mission,
Health, Relationships, Money, and Loss."

Eye Tip
I receive a newsletter from Oprah every day via e-mail. She has health tips, recipes, relationship tips, and reading suggestions. She is out to make this world a better place, one tip at a time. I found a recent post most helpful.
I spend a lot of time at my computer, e-mails, writing articles, reading – and my eyes get tired. Keeping ones eyed fixed at 2 feet causes eye strain. There are many of tips on reducing eye strain, but this one comes equipped with a game plan. Every 20 minutes, focus your eyes at a point about 20 feet away, for 20 seconds. I've been doing this and found another added benefit. The 20 second count down is relaxing. It's a 20 second break. 20 seconds feels like a long time when you are fully present and count 20 real seconds. When I was a kid, we considered a second the time it took to think "one chimpanzee."
Take a few seconds out of your day for your eye health. You’ll be glad you did.
