A Note From Anne
Dear ,
Congratulations to my editor. He lives in a small town and has only occasional use for a car. But a couple of weeks ago he had a big, big thought: “I want a car.” One week later a legally blind woman asked him if she bought a car for him to use, would he drive her around one or two days week to run her errands? Today he’s riding around in a nice looking cream colored low mileage Cadillac.
Our desires have impact on our world. He had what I call a clean desire. He wasn’t attached to getting a car; he just wanted one. A want-to be farmer was at a party. In conversation, he mentioned he wanted a goat. Someone behind him asked, “Did you want a goat.” The next day he picked up his free goat from the man who was juxtapostioned the night before in the perfect spot.
I wanted to be a court jester in the U.S. Congress so I could entertain both houses and the president. It was kind of a joke, but I talked it up. I dreamed of a new electable office to run for, congressional jester. Within a year I ended up performing for both houses of congress in the Philippines, for the heads of states, including the military heads, and for their president. I wasn’t in the US congress, but the reality was close to my dream.
Our dreams and desires are like magnets. They attract things. When we are attached and have to have something or have a certain outcome, that energy is repelling and moves the desired outcome away from us.
These events might seem like coincidences to some people. To me not so much, but it is always good to hear about serendipity in people’s lives. I hope your lives are moving in the direction of your wishes and dreams and that you have the vision to see how the universe is out for your good.

Intuition Saves the Day
Intuition has been at the center of women’s lives for centuries. Men have intuition, yet they are more likely to apply their intuition to their business lives, rather than to their personal lives. Countless women ask for signs, embrace symbols, and know how important it is to listen to that nagging feeling about their child or someone they love. Intuition is the ability to know something without proof. Even though women don’t own the process, the words “woman’s intuition” is a familiar term, but who’s ever heard of “man’s intuition”? I am one of those women who rely on intuition. I think of it as inner guidance. I’m not always in touch with it, but when I allow myself some quiet time, it usually comes through.
I was once in a relationship with a man who was a warrior. He was a decorated Viet Nam vet and seemed lost without a battle. He was quick to provide a battle by arguing. I wouldn’t fight with him. He would usually increase his efforts, but I would reach in and find a way to diffuse his intensity, or find inner stillness. It was always comforting to find that great calm in the midst of turmoil.
One day he came at me and I just left the room. I sat alone and asked “What can I do to restore peace? How can I respond?” I was fully expecting the normal compassionate answer, so when I heard the inner response, I was taken aback. A clear powerful voice replied, “Don’t put up with that shit.” I smiled, knowing that my inner guidance was not only wise, it was savvy. I felt my courage rise and marched back in the room. I forcefully spoke of my displeasure. He had no instigating comeback. Ultimately that same guidance got me out of the relationship and it is that same intuition that keeps me in my marriage. I have faced some tough times and been willing to leave, but on those occasions, that deep inner knowing, revealed a different path.
Some people rely on that inner wisdom, while others seem blank-faced when the topic arises. Is there something that can help us develop intuition? Fortunately three things can help us move to those inner realms where help resides. What are they?
- Be Quite - Learn how to keep the mind quiet when you have a problem, rather than trying to figure out or analyze the situation. Get away from the situation. Take a walk to clear your mind or mentally go inside and be still. Wait in silence. Do not go over and over the information. Allow quietness to become a natural reaction to stress.
- Listen – We must learn to listen for what’s happening within, be it a feeling, a hunch, or words. We can only hear the heart’s language when the mind bows in reverence. Perhaps a certain person will cross our minds. Maybe we will be prompted to pick up a certain book. Recently a friend called. He had a hunch to contact me. He had no conscious idea I had any expertise in the field that challenged him. We kicked around a few ideas. He was grateful for my advice and hung up feeling excited about his next steps.
- Act – If you receive information that requires you take action, actually take that action. Make that call, write that person, or pick up that book and read it. Once, I decided to follow my intuition throughout the day. I cleared my calendar and just kept following my instincts. It was one on the most interesting and memorable days of my life. Take a day to follow your urges and see what happens. The more opportunities we have to follow those hunches, the more we can trust that inner knowing.
We are not alone. We are guided and supported though invisible means that are well-informed about things that mystify the rational mind. Reach in and call up that force and your life will be EZier and EZier.

EZosophy is a book for the spiritually-based reader who no longer values the ego driven struggle of contemporary life. EZosophy is a simple philosophy that radically changes lives. The book offers action plans to reverse familiar patterns of suffering and brings home the truth that life is not meant to be a series of to-do lists punctuated by eating and sleeping. |
Down With Ego Driven
Suffering, Do you believe that hardships
are the major teaching tools on your path?
"Ease is not indolence; rather, ease is the art of
accomplishment without struggle. Although most conscious
people understand that life doesn't have to be a struggle,
the "how to" has been missing ... until now. Anne’s book
makes it "easy." "Anne Sermons Gillis is one of the clearest voices for
undoing misery. I resonate with EZosophy, applaud, and
celebrate it. We could all benefit immensely from putting
these powerful principles into practice. Read, enjoy, and
lighten up." "With great insight, humor, and a magical way with words,
Anne Sermons Gillis dissolves the illusion of hardship and
suffering to reveal what's been there all the time. Divine
Ease. It’s the only way to live." |

Healthy Living
Say Cheese
Many of us, especially those of us with sinus problems, restrict our use of dairy products. Numerous people cannot digest dairy, while others tolerate it fairly well. About 65% of the human population has a reduced ability to digest lactose. In some populations, such as people of Asian descent, 90 percent of the population is lactose intolerant. Wow, that puts dairy in the category of “Most folks don’t do that well on dairy.” People who are from northern European descent are the exception, with only 5% having lactose intolerance.
I love pizza. I don’t eat it weekly, but I do eat it occasionally. It’s tough to imagine a cheese-less pizza. Is there a cheese alternative that works on pizza? Yes, and it works well. It even passed my husband’s taste test. It does not taste 100% like cheese, but it does taste really good and gives pizza a great taste. The mock cheese is protein rich and much easier to digest than real cheese. Here’s an easy recipe for mock cheese.
Vegan Parmesan Cheese
¼ cup brewer’s yeast
1 cup raw cashews
1 teaspoon sea salt
Place all ingredients in a small food processor and process until you have to consistency of Parmesan cheese. My organic pizza came alive with a marinara sauce, liberally sprinkled with “cheese” and topped with onions, red bell peppers, sliced mushrooms, and sliced tomatoes.

capability of the mind to analyze, to figure out, or to
comprehend."
— H.W.L. Poonja

be a teacher. People want their friends to be equals, not
educators."
