  The Anne Report

Snow in Texas and 12:12 Everywhere

Dear ,

While talking about the weather is frequently a way to deflect real conversation or a way to pass time, snow on the ground in The Woodlands, TX is almost apocalyptic. Friday morning, area residents were startled when they awakened to a snowy terrain. Facebook lit up with substantiating photos. I admit, as I drove to the Marriot in the morning, I was grinning, even laughing. No thought of the chill, only feelings of thrill. I've never seen a white Christmas, and heading to the SC coast for Christmas will most assuredly ensure another snowless Christmas. I have seen snow two or three times since I moved here in 1998, so mentioning that we had snow is more than weather chatter to me.

Today is 12:12. Have you noticed seeing those numbers frequently on the clock? I have, and one client asked me, "What is going on? I keep seeing 12:12 on my clock. It is bazaar." My reply, "It means you are going the right way in your life. It is a sign that all is well."

12:12 is an angel number. Angel advocates say that it means to stay positive, you are doing well, and that your angels are helping. Others tout this day 12:12 as a day to get clear on what you want to create and then focus on your goals and visions. Some say the veil is thin on this day and you can more easily create your heart's desire. It is a good idea to get our heart's desire and to be able to distinguish between our heart's desire and our ego's desire. It isn't a good day to think about getting more stuff or more experiences that will make us feel better about ourselves. A great thing to visualize is that we feel confident, that we act with honor and respect toward ourselves and others, and that we live in a manner that allows our talents to flourish. Let's use this day to see ourselves as happy, healthy, connected to community, and alive with the pleasure of life itself. I think that's a vision our angels can really stand behind. And that's it for the Anne Report.

What If the Sign Resigns?

We each have moments of doubt and bewilderment. During such times we seek comfort and often send out a request to the Powers That Be: "Please send a sign!"

My friend connected to the quantum field. He was awed by his new relationship with the Infinite, yet he wanted reassurance that his discoveries weren't imaginary or just wishful thinking, "If there's something to this, help me loosen this screw." He had been working on a screw, but it was rusty, stuck, and wouldn't budge. He imagined the screw turning, repeated his request, then turned the screw with his fingers, and, to his delight and surprise, it easily moved." This was his sign. It marked a turning point in his life. He opened to a deeper level of trust. He was not alone, and he was not powerless.

Dr. Joe Dispenza tells the story of a woman who wanted to know she was special, valued. She asked for an irrefutable sign that could not be missed. Later, she was driving with her car windows open and a bald eagle flew into her car. She pulled over. The eagle looked at her, momentarily held eye contact, then flew out the back window. This incident was not only inspiring and life-affirming; this story will be told over and over and help others rekindle that sense of wonder.

While I love the eagle story, being a practical mystic, I think I might have a wreck if an eagle flew into my car. I'd be good with a parakeet or, better still, a butterfly; just saying. When I'm out of sorts, it takes something as big as an eagle, but I don't think the Universe is trying to kill me, so, to the Powers That Be, let's go with a butterfly if this type situation comes up. As for my advice, maybe it would be safer to ask for a regular sign, rather than an irrefutable sign.

I've received signs, but most often I'm left with the task of pulling myself out of my slump dump, and, if there's a sign, I can't read it. It's a wacky situation. When I'm in the flow, signs are everywhere, but when I'm in chaos, the signs have resigned. It makes sense. When I'm cut off from flow, I don't see as clearly and, if signs are present, I'm likely to miss them.

When we are in chaos and there's no clear path, what can we do? Here's what works for me. I do the next thing on my to do list and keep doing the next thing that comes to mind. It might just be washing the car or writing in my journal, but I do something. I listen to a favorite song. I remind myself that all the things I have known to be true have not stopped being true just because I can't connect with them in a meaningful way right now. I take my mishaps as a momentary lapse. I know that the situation or delinquent feelings came to pass; they didn't come to stay. Bad moods are basically chemical reactions, and I'm not letting a few chemicals get me down indefinitely.

More advice. If we can't feel or discern our guidance when there are no signs, we still need to trust that we are not alone. No need to give up our basic life assumptions of well-being when the moment doesn't measure up to our standards. When we live with a clean heart and have good intentions, we can trust that everything will turn out okay. We get too hung up on making the right choice. We dissect life and grope for guidance when it doesn't matter what we chose. Each choice brings its lessons, woes, and blessings. When we take love with us and live in compassion and humility, we are covered. Our choices become insignificant. We need to use our best judgment to decide on a plan of action, and then act. We have a Universal Life Insurance Policy that ensures that the essence of harmony organizes, directs, and corrects each step we take. Sometimes we step in doggy do, but each step, whether we hop, walk, slosh, or dance, takes us in the right direction.

We are going Godward, and, just as the wave cannot operate independently of the ocean, we can't operate independently of the Source. Let's relax. Don't take life personally. We are not waves; we are oceans, and even though you may not have asked for a sign today, you're going to get one. And it's not a stop sign; it's a go sign. Here's your personal sign: "It's okay; you're going to be fine.  Actually, you already are, and that is my final prophecy."

Quotes

"Don't get miffed when you are out on a limb. We will spend plenty of time out on a limb because we are the fruit of the tree. We start out sour, but, with time, we ripen and become sweet."

"There's a blessing for your stressing. The Miracle Express is headed your way. Last stop – YOU!"

"Words Make a Difference. Use strong words: use the ones that carry you and lift you up. Use words that are powerful and loving enough to stop the egoic mind in its tracks. Use compassionate words: words that bring comfort to an unsteady heart. Words are our servants, our allies, our constant companions. Use with care. Do not let them use you. Don't be more conscientious about washing your clothes than about speaking your truth. Some words are delicate. Respect that. Shoot off blessings, not bullets."

Life Affirming Thoughts

"Everything I see and say is beautiful and blessed because I see with my heart, not with my intellect."

"The Call of Creation - I call forth the best possible outcome for my life. I call forth the best possible outcome for my friends, family, and all of humanity. I call forth the best possible outcome for the animals, trees, and seas. I call for the best possible outcome for those too weak to call for themselves. I stand firm in my vision of well-being and call it forth for all."

EZosophy Holiday Songs

Happy Mind (to the tune "Jingle Bells"), by Anne Gillis

A day or two ago,I thought I'd lost my way,
But then my ego disappeared and I began to play.
I heard my happy thoughts, and felt a great big smile,
And then my ego jumped back out and acted sort of wild.

Oh, ego thoughts, ego thoughts, ego ain't the way,
to have fun in a safe, healed mind that does not want delay.
Oh, ego thoughts, ego thoughts, ego ain't the way,
to have fun in a safe, healed mind that does not want delay.

Playing with my friends on this most important day,
I feel my courage jump right in and I just want to say,
I like you very much and hope you always know,
that I'll love you no matter what, through wind and rain and snow.

Just happy thoughts, happy thoughts, happy every day.
I make choices with my mind in a very helpful way.
Just happy thoughts, happy thoughts, happy every day.
I make choices with my mind in a very helpful way.

Eliminating the Blocks to Healthier Living

Life is full of mishaps and these mishaps do not occur in a void. Most of them arise from some ineffective action we take or from some overblown reaction to "the small stuff."

There are many things that surprise us, things we have no control over, but we have control over many things. We have power over our false emotional patterns, and when we drop these patterns, we live EZier, healthier lives.

  • Pressure – We live in a time when almost everyone feels pressure. This time of year, people feel pressured to have a good time, to go to parties, to buy the perfect present, or to buy presents they can't afford. It's time to identify the source of the pressure and drop the internal dialogue that pushes us into upset. Most of our pressure is an egoic reaction that drives us. It's not about what's happening outside; it's the mind reenacting habituated patterns of behavior. We do not have to put ourselves under pressure this time of year. As Bob Newhart would say, "Stop it." Use the EZ U Process to help you drop the pressure.
  • FOMO – Fear of Missing Out. This is another popular pattern in our society. It's the fear we will miss an opportunity, that there is a more exciting event happening elsewhere, or if we miss an event, that we will miss something great. It can be the fear we will miss an important Facebook post or something that is happening in the world. FOMO keeps us glued to our phones, even if we are on vacation or at an important meeting. There's an old saying that addresses this: "The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence." Identify the FOMO and then drop the drama. FOMO is drama. Get out of the drama-rama. It's a predicable emotional pattern used to elicit chemicals we are addicted to.
  • Time Panic – Feeling panic about not having enough time. Hurrying offers the best way to feel that time is speeding by and we don't have enough of it. This is such a prevalent pattern in our lives that we set ourselves up to feel this way. This feeling is a habit in our society, and it is a bad habit. The more we say, "I don't have enough time," the more create that experience. The subconscious mind creates our expectations. Make peace with time and expect to have more than enough to do what it takes to live a full life. Affirm often, "I have more than enough time to do everything I need and want to do."
  • Urgency – There's an art to giving up urgency. It's called organization. Make out your to do list. Keep a running list of tasks. The list frees the mind so it doesn't have to hunt for the next thing to do and keeps the mind from worrying that it will forget something. Choose one item, take action, then mark it off the list. Just a check mark gives us a sense of completion and satisfaction. If the task can't be completed, keep it on the list and make a subcategory of all the steps needed to complete this project, and complete each step, one by one, then mark it off when completed. When we don't keep lists, the mind plays tricks by keeping us on the edge of panic.

These four patterns are emotional addictions. We can work for emotional sobriety by applying three steps. Identify the problem feeling; acknowledge our addiction to the feeling; and then choose out of the feeling through awareness. We thus move from being an emotional addict to an emotional observer. Awareness gives us a choice. It provides a way out. Use the EZ U Process to deal with these emotional habits and you will find that your live will be EZier and EZier.
