  The Anne Report

Traveling Companions

Dear ,

I'm back in Texas, after a great visit with my grand-children and other family members in North and South Carolina. While I love going to see family and traveling, I always feel dislocated when I return home. I arrived in Houston Saturday night. It was rainy and gloomy, and I just wanted to curl up and veg out. My hat is off to business people who travel weekly. The up side to flying is seeing people from everywhere and navigating the carnival like atmosphere of the airport. People from every corner of the world walk, run, and snore at airport terminals. They eat fast foods and drink, in anticipation of their flight. I was with two women in the elevator and asked where they were from. They sounded foreign to me: "New Jersey," they responded. I was flabbergasted. The airport culture is unique, and I love it. I am fascinated by the never-ending surprise and chance encounters.

I met a young woman, coming to Houston to study, who was from Burkina Faso. She spoke French and little English. I speak English and very little French. We ended up talking through Google translator. It was hilarious. She wanted to get my contact information, so we could stay in touch, but it took several tries for the translation to make sense. The one that I finally understood was, "I find you adorable. Can we stay in contact"? We exchanged information and I now have a new friend who lives in my area or at least an hour away. (This is not the same young woman you will read about in the main article).

Here's sending you great amounts for EZ this week. After being out in the world for a week and a half, I realize the stellar value of EZosophy. We live in a culture that loves ego-driven suffering, and most people are unaware that it is a choice. That's it for the Anne report, and remember, "I love you."

Destined Meetings

On a recent flight, I talked extensively with the young woman seated beside me. Normally 20-year olds watch a video or listen to music while on a flight, but this young lady started asking questions as soon as we sat down. "Was it hard for you to use a smart phone? What was it like growing up in the fifties?" I answered each question. Eventually the questions took a turn, as she inquired about spiritual matters, such as meditation, lucid dreaming, and the paranormal. She beamed as I talked about parallel universes and the law of attraction. She asked about reincarnation and ghosts. She was thrilled that I had answers, and, eventually, she revealed her unique experiences.

I shared that I hit a crossroads when I was young. I decided to give up all my alternative beliefs if I couldn't find others who held similar views. Within a few days I met a group of people who validated my views.

I recognized that she was a special person, and one I had a message for. "You can't return to ordinary." I stated. "You are not destined to live a normal life." Tears glistened in her eyes, "That's what I was going to do. Live a normal life. Do you know how many things had to happen for us to meet? All these delays, then we end up on the same plane, seated together. I never talk to anyone on the plane, but as I reached for my earphones, something stopped me. I felt compelled to talk to you."

It was true. She was rerouted, as was I. She had been in the airport all day, hoping to get a flight back to school. We talked about the law of attraction, and I told her that the Universe sent me. I was there by her request, to light her chosen path. "There will always be someone or something when you need them. Count on that." More tears.

We all reach crossroads. These choices range from the dark night of the soul to deciding which job to take. We want signs, input from friends, or a knowing that the way we choose is right for us. There's always a sign, even if the sign is silence. Silence says, "It doesn't matter what you choose. I am with you through all the experiences, and I will light your way home. Do everything with love and in love, and you can't go wrong. Surrender, and turn off your need to be right, to avoid mistakes, and your desire to look good. Your life is not about what you do; it's about how you do it. Will you act with grace; with kindness? Will you harm no one? Will you destroy your greed and self-centeredness along the way? These are the choices that matter, not whether you get a blue or silver truck, or even what job you take. As long as you live the love of your being, all paths will be illuminated."

There are signs along the way, but when the signs are not apparent, it means the answer is to chose a path, and fuel it with love and generosity. Silence speaks, but we are so accustomed to things that sparkle, that we overlook the simplicity of the spiritual life. When our life becomes a mass of complicated choices, we can be sure we've sidestepped the path.

The encounter with the young woman was not the first one I had, where it was apparent that the meeting was destined. I am certain we serve as the hands and feet of spirit, and that spirit speaks to us and through us.

My daughter recently went on a walk at the beach and met a woman who became a friend, mentor, and meditation teacher. She knew it was a part of her life's plan to meet the woman. She called me after the encounter, breathless with excitement.

The book, The Celestine Prophecy, provides nine insights for the spiritual traveler. The first insight says the that the world is at such a place in its evolution that synchronicities, or "meaningful coincidences," are accelerating. While the book is a novel, it contains many truths, and I believe the first insight is true. We are connecting at deeper and deeper levels. We need to be on the lookout, because when we stay alert and notice what comes our way, we can see universal love and support barreling toward us. Let's stay aware of the signs and the chance meetings that occur in our lives, because when we do, life always becomes EZier and EZier.

Anne Quotes

"Life is a series of unending fortune, bliss, and sweetness. We miss life and reality because we experience and define life though our conditioned minds. When we pierce this veil of conditioning, we wake up. We see what has always been present, yet unseen. It is a blessed moment, when life appears, untouched by our definitions and habits of mind. This awakening is often followed by forgetfulness. We return to slumber. We will reawaken endless numbers of times and be filled with the delight of radical aliveness."

"Longing and craving are cousins that feed on discontent. When we feed them with appreciation and awareness, we turn them into release, satisfaction, contentment, and well-being."

"There is no need too big for the universe to fill. There is no problem than cannot be solved or transformed into possibility and resolution. There is no dead-end road in life. We are never alone, and we can always count on that which transcends limits to not only be with us, we can remember that it is us. Alone is a construct of the egoic mind. We are one with everything. Being alone is a story made by the mind. Being hopeless and helpless is a mental error based on conditioning. When we count on possibility, rather than limits, when we remember, or at least look toward, the truth of who we are, we open to amazing adventures, opportunities, and well-being."

Lime Aid

I have turned into a limeade fanatic. Lime juice has many health benefits, and when I make my special treat, I feel like a baby drinking from a bottle. It is refreshing and satisfying. I fill a glass half full of ice, squeeze one lime over the ice, and add Stevia until it's sweet enough. I mix it all up and drag my drink around until I've finished. Here are some of the benefits associated with lime.

  • Cuts down your appetite
  • Strengthens the immune system
  • Provides vitamins
  • Helps prevent gout
  • Relieves nausea
  • Helps prevent heart disease
  • Aids in weight loss
  • Helps regulate sugar absorption
  • Helps digestion
  • Eases constipation
  • Helps protect eyes from aging and infection
  • Reduces body odor (topical)
  • Reduces dandruff (topical)
  • Lowers inflammation
  • Helps protect against cancer
  • May power up metabolism

Lime juice is amazing, but I don't drink it for the health benefits. I drink it because I love the taste. I think it detoxes the body and cuts down craving, but these are extras I get when I drink my favorite drink. During cold weather, I often add an herbal tea bag to my limeade and drink it hot. Whenever I feel like I may be catching a cold, I never drink cold drinks. I don't think our bodies like cold drinks, so I am judicious about drinking them. Hope this inspires you to take a little sip. Your body will thank you.

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let's create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let's use money as it's meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don't need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance.
