Here's Anne Sermons Gillis' 04/17/2018 newsletter, The EZ Secret: Tips on Living in EZ

Published: Tue, 04/17/18

The Anne Report, NOT Sleeping on the Job, shows two sides of this familiar phrase. The Main article, Is My Body an Energy Outlet?, reminds us that glitches in life do happen, but we don't have to make dramas out of them. The Healthy Living article, Healthy Planet: Earth Day, provides some ways to become active in promoting Earth Day. The Anne Talk is EZosophy: More Machines - Momagenes. The Featured Product This Month highlights Anne's fourth book, Words Make a Difference. Click to see Anne's Books. Click for What is EZosophy? Click for Abundance Affirmations.

  The Anne Report

NOT Sleeping on the Job

Dear ,

It’s been a tough week. My grandson, Thomas, was diagnosed with sleep apnea. He is not yet four, and the doctor said it was the worst case she had ever seen. He stopped breathing 65 times in one hour. Naturally his oxygen levels were low, and the sweet little guy had circles around his eyes. My daughter called me with the news and we were all bereft. Days later, he’s had his tonsils removed. The doc thinks his huge tonsils were the culprit. We’re hoping the little guy can start to sleep normally and that all will be well from now on. One of my friends said to me, “It’s the worst when it’s your grandchildren.” She’s right. He should be the healthiest kid on the block now, given all the people I’ve asked to say a little prayer for him, but I’m also asking you for a prayer or two. Just takes a second!

You can read of my trials and tribulations in the main article, but despite the flips and dips, I've done several videos this week for my two Facebook pages. Mark Zuckerberg may have been a pariah last week, but I admit that social media gives me a playground for my creativity. After getting over the need to put out perfect videos, I've come to a level of satisfaction with my unprofessional looking content. My work may not be neatly presented and maybe only a few will see it, but I can say that I put it out there. I did not sit on the sidelines of my life and watch it go by, and I'm proud of myself for that! It feels good. And that's it for the Anne Report.

Is My Body an Energy Outlet?

I've been a nervous wreck lately. It feels like an electric current is going through my body and I have to hang on for life. These feelings always drive me to up my spiritual practices. Yesterday I did 4 hours of various types of exercise, meditated forever, and worked my anti-anxiety pressure points, and I still felt electrified. Go figure, but today, after a long meditation, I arose. Resurrection; salvation.

This is what I learned from my many experiences of feeling bad:

  • I feel good sometimes and bad sometimes. It's best to kept up my spiritual and physical practices, regardless of how I feel.
  • When I'm feeling down, I remind myself not to put too much faith in my dilemma. Who knows what's up? Maybe I'm having an influx of energy that my body can't handle. Maybe my body is a sort of spiritual energy outlet. This may not be true, but why not tell myself an uplifting story about my experience? It's all conjecture anyway, and I'll just keep making up stories to explain my dilemma, but I'll probably never figure it out.
  • This mood or emotional event will end, and it's like surgery: when anxiety is gone, it's easily forgotten.
  • Whenever I share about my down times, as opposed to trying to keep up an image of always being together, people appreciate it. We've all been there.

Life is not a crime, but there are crime scenes in my life. Whether these scenes are those of confusion, anxiety, or depression, they cannot be taken seriously. There's no need to get upset when I have bouts of dis – ease. I don't need to complicate the hard times by adding panic, fear, or judgment to the crime scene. I just need to look at the crime scene and say, "Wow, a crime has been committed. My subconscious emotional material did it. No one is guilty; it was a misunderstanding. I will clean up the crime scene the best I know how and that's all I can do." I say a prayer or two, fix a glass of limeade, my favorite drink, and draw, watch a movie, listen to music, work in the yard, meditate, walk, sing, watch animal Facebook videos, or write. And wait. As the old saying goes, "It came to pass; it didn't come to stay." And it does go away, and when I emerge, back to my Self, I feel doubly grateful to be alive.

Life is fancy. It has feathers and cocktails, but it has prisons and headaches too. Expecting to always feel good is emotional terrorism, especially when one's life is interrupted by unexpected gloom. Life is EZier when we expect joy, but blessed when we deal with our pain in compassionate ways. We can't be consumed by our doom, but we can't put ice cream on top of it either. Who wants to eat gloom a la mode? "Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted." According to the Gillis Standard Bible, this means than when we face our pain, it will eventually go away, and when we do, life will be EZier and EZier.

Anne Quote

One Life

I live in the depth of a blessing so deep, so wide, that nothing can hide from its view.

A blessing so sweet that my heart bends down to drink from its wonder.

I live with a wholeness, a worship, and an appreciation that's nearer than breath, and I am clear that No Thing (Source) wants everything to shout out that life is unconquerable.

Life cannot be beaten or slayed. It can't be lost or fragmented. Life cannot be for nothing. It can't be meaningless.

It can't be ruled by injustice. Life can't be marginalized, passed over, or victimized.

Real life is transcendent. It's not that made up stuff, tinted by fear. Life is the music of being, and it's always played on key.

It is harmonious and can never be silenced, and for that I am grateful. Grateful for every twist and turn, every shadow that plays in the light; grateful all of it, for there is only One Life.

SO Be it.

"Some people use affirmations to reprogram the mind. Certainly we have reams of questionable material in our subconscious mind, but I prefer to think of the affirmations in the book as commands for more compassionate living, openings to greater possibilities, and templates for a brave new world." Healthy Planet: Earth Day

April 22nd marks the 48th anniversary of Earth Day. Earth Day is celebrated throughout the world, with events, festivals, and cleanups. Wonder how you can join the Green Renaissance?

Here's a copy of the Twelve Steps for Planetary Recovery. Work these 12 steps alone or in a group. It stimulates great discussion.

Start Your Own Climate, Sustainability, or Green Group (excerpted from Words Make a Difference).

  • Give your group a name.
  • Meet in person or by phone conferencing.
  • Design projects to educate the public on how to take political action, how to reduce one's personal footprint, or how your community (faith community, office, club) or city can go green. Provide a time for members to process their feelings about our planetary destruction. Discuss how one can overcome hopelessness or despair, to become a change agent. The Pachamama Allegiance offers an online course for activism that promotes a socially just, spiritually fulfilling, and sustainable planet. This is a powerful resource for any climate or green group. Check out their site and offer their program to your group.
  • Bring up one area of climate change to focus on at each meeting. For example, if you chose drought, name some of the countries, states, or cities affected by drought. Forge a visionary statement and have each member of the group focus on it until the next meeting. Research droughts and their causes. Find out the correlation between floods and droughts.

Our earth is drowning in plastic, our animals are losing their habitats, and our oceans are acidifying. Given the state of the planet, I was thrilled to run across this sustainability report from Shell Oil Company. It outlines their intention to move toward sustainable energy alternatives.

Join Anne's Facebook Group

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let's create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let's use money as it's meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don't need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance.
