  The Anne Report

On the Road Again

Dear ,

We left for the summer on Sunday. Thrill was in the air. I've never been away from my home base for three consecutive months. The idea was a stretch, but after months of playing with the idea, we finally committed, and will arrive in Mt. Pleasant, S.C. tomorrow. We will be with our grandchildren, daughter, and son-in-law a couple of weeks, then on to RV living. This is another dream come true. I've traveled the world on dreams and know there's plenty to come. As the song lyrics advocate, "May I suggest, may I suggest, may I suggest this is the best part of your life."

I had two engagements Saturday, spoke Sunday morning, and we got off Sunday evening. I've had an unusually busy business week, to add onto the packing party! We have the plants taken care of, Larry will be in the house, the lawn man will come over, and the hoses are set on timers, to water the grass. What's so exciting is that, after a bit of initial overwhelm, I settled down and enjoyed the process. Years ago, this would have been difficult. I would have suffered from overwhelm and fear. I can't nail down the fear factor, but I suspect it would be what ensues when I feel out of control. I'm not trying to brag; I am just so thankful for this flow and ease concerning the trip. Okay, maybe there is some crowing involved. I love EZosophy. Once one becomes a dedicated EZosophist, it's easier to let life be as it is and skip the need to control events and dramatize what is. Down with ego driven suffering!

We attended the funeral of a friend's father on Saturday and met another couple at the funeral. We chatted; the husband excused himself. So his wife and I kept talking. It turns out that Robert and Pat are headed to Charleston next week in their fifth wheel. We exchanged information and plan to get together when we are there. They are headed for Spoleto in Charleston. I love synchronicity.

That's it for the Anne Report.

I Exchanged My Rose Colored Glasses for a Pet Rock

I have a small rose quartz massage tool. It's about 4 inches long and the size of a dime in circumference. Rose quartz is a healing stone that emanates the frequency of love. I'm not sure if this is true, but I believe it to be so. Lately, I started holding the stone when I go to sleep. It seems as if I'm holding an intimate secret, a key to the infinite. It's not me and my shadow (you have to be old to get that reference); it's me and my stone. Sometimes I place the stone over my heart chakra. It's six sided, cool, and smooth. When I awake during the night, I locate my stone; we cozy.

This may sound like an unusual behavior, which it is, really. I've never heard of stone holding, but it's my self-constructed ritual. And this ritual produces pleasure and comfort. This small act is one of consummate pleasure. The tea ceremony brings a sacredness to the moment for some, but, for me, I have my own rituals.

When I was young, I found comfort in small blankets. I had five small blankets, and I placed them neatly all over my bed at bedtime. I lovingly placed each blanket in its place. I loved my blankets and still love small blankets. To this day, I have my favorites. When we see life as sacred. Even the smallest task brings forth contentment and peace.

How would it be if I could hold everyone in my heart the way I hold this stone to my heart? I expect the best from my stone. I even expect it to deliver miracles. I expect it to warm my heart and to put me back to sleep. It's an inner dialogue that I make up for my enjoyment, and it works. I hold my stone with great intention and expectation.

I wonder, could I expect the best from people, just as I do from my pink rock? How would I hold them if I made them as precious to me as this little rose quartz? Could I savor their uniqueness?

Until we behold the divinity in others, there's a lesson to learn. Lessons are what we get when our moments are love deprived. Each event and happening in our reality has the potential to return to love. If we stand in love, there's no need for a lesson, but if we are wounded or stubborn, lessons come from every direction. We can skip these lessons when we live through the lens of curiosity, companionship, creation, and kindness. We can either consume the world through our perception or create the world we want to see. Just as my stone holding directs my mind to pleasure points, we have the ability to see our lives, the people we meet, and even our daily routine, through a sacred heart and an open heart.

When I hold my stone, I create a world of mystery and miracle. Next, I step fully into that world. It's a world of imagination. It's a world of safety and security.

If I could do that with one small stone, why not extend that ability to everything? People have prayer beads that bring comfort, and I have my stone. Life is like a blank slate, and we can use our curiosity, expectation, and creation to bring forth a peaceful and fulfilling reality.

Getting stoned may not be your thing, and you may not care for rose quartz, but you do have before you a clear canvas, a brilliant mind, and the enthusiasm of a child. Step into that inheritance. Tune in to this moment of power to make this moment your moment. Stake a claim in a self-created, child-like world of wonder, because when you do, everything becomes EZier and EZier.

Anne Quotes

"We all fall short when it comes to being what we want to be. At times, when self-esteem is low, we can fool ourselves into believing that our faith and behavior are more perfect than they are. We do this because we already think very little of ourselves, but to add more incompetencies to our list would be too hard to bear. If we admit that we are powerless in certain situations, the ego could use our confession as ammunition against us. Then, not only are we in need of help, we are battered by our inner-critic for needing help." Excerpted from Offbeat Prayers for the Modern Mystic

"I feel like each day is shorter than the day before. Even though I've cut down on my commitments, the day is gone before it receives my stamp of approval. I even seem to lose whole days, "Is it Thursday already?" Some scientists have an explanation for this phenomenon. I heard a lecture about time speeding up. My head bobbed up and down in agreement as the speaker hypothesized. What a relief. I don't remember what he said except, "time is flying by." Of course, I already knew that before the lecture. This verifies how we listen to others to confirm what we already believe." Excerpted Standing in the Dark

"When good things are pushed to extremes, they show a dark side. This is true of renegotiating. It is important to be able to renegotiate our commitments, but sometimes we form habits of bailing out on our friends at the last minute. Do you renegotiate or do you renege?" Excerpted from EZosophy: The Art and Wisdom of EZ or at Least EZier Living

Join Anne's Facebook Group

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let's create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let's use money as it's meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don't need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance.

  The Living Book

Suppose someone told you that you could change your life radically, for the better, if you spent just three minutes a day doing inner work? Would you believe it? Maybe not, but wouldn’t it be worth an investment of three minutes a day to try it?

The Living Book offers just this. Devote three minutes a day to this process and your life will become a living testimony to the seed principle. A tiny seed can grow into a mighty tree, but it must be planted. Plant your daily seed for three short minutes and notice both subtle and miraculous changes in your life. In addition to the daily practice, one can use the process when they are stumped or afraid or angry. This process transforms anger into love. When we plant seeds of light into our thoughts and emotional bodies, we move into higher frequencies of well-being.

  Healthy Living

Rewrite Your Script

Just as a movie has a script, we have scripts for our lives. Unfortunately, some of our life scripts are destructive. Whether you are dealing with addictions or dueling with despair, a new script moves you away from ineffective behavior. Maybe things are ho hum in your life and you want to put a spring in your step. It's time for a new script. Write your own or use one below, to read daily. Write your new script on a piece of paper every day for 30 days and carry it around with you on your person. Take it out and read it several times a day. Feel what it would feel like if your new script was true for you.

New Script for a Better Life

Every day I awaken to a new sense of peace. Things that used to bother me no longer get under my skin. I feel gratitude when I get out of bed, knowing that each day gives me more good than I expected. Life is getting better, and I feel more and more like the me I'm meant to be. I easily accept compliments and I am quick to offer appreciation. My imagination and intuition are at work and I find myself in the right place at the right time. My home and car are well-taken care of, as is my body. The longing (hopelessness, depression, anxiety) I used to have is diminishing daily and I'm beginning to feel safe, believing that my life can change for the better. I no longer hurry, and I make sure that I take time to rest and really enjoy my accomplishments, without having to run to the next one.

Script for Addict

I am getting better each day. I no longer need a fix and I find safety in my new life. I have plenty of friends and find it easier and easier to attend my meetings. My cravings have stopped and, with the help of my Higher Power, I know I can make it one day at a time. I believe in my new life. I trust my sobriety. I look for things to appreciate in my life and find them. I no longer run from my fears and feelings; I handle each thing as it comes up.

Script for Overweight

Each day I find myself being filled with the love I want and desire. I know food cannot give me what I crave, and I trust myself more and more with food because I trust me more. I go through the day making better and better food choices. I have a good support system and call on them when I need them. I feel valuable. I find myself feeling lighter and lighter each day and I feel confident I can change old patterns and eating habits.

Script for A Healthy Relationship with Money

I am money wise. I pay my debts on time, and I practice money integrity. I have more than enough money to pay my bills and have money to spare and money to share. I am money proof and feel the same about myself, whether money is coming in or going out of my life. I am not defined by how much money I have or make because I am the true treasure of my life. I am relaxed and calm about money. I have given up money worry and struggle. I have a high financial IQ.
