  The Anne Report

Master Ego Driven Emotions

Dear ,

I saw a Facebook post from a Houston friend. It said, "Please pray for the folks in Houston. There's nothing wrong. We just don't know what to wear." Everyone in the area collectively smiled. She was referring to the near 80° temperature one day and the 30-ish degree temperature the next.

I often compare our moods to the weather. They change overnight, and sometimes in a twinkling of an eye. I write frequently about emotions. Why? Because ego driven emotions are our biggest nemesis. Until we take them in stride and move through life without mentally swooning and emotionally swaggering, we are prisoners. The jail is crowded, so I provide a few working keys to help us open the prison door.

EZosophy is a philosophy that begs us to "get off it." The philosophy invites us to stop the ego maniac in our heads from running the show. The plots for most upsets are prewritten by the mental and emotional terrorist in our heads. We have to fight terrorism, because it's crazy to keep devastating ourselves with emotional propaganda. Join me in fighting Ego Driven Suffering (EDS), because when we do, life becomes EZier and EZier.

Prime Your Passion

Writing is a passion for me. I write on scraps of paper. I even write in my head. I have several notebook filled drawers, and there's a spiral notebook stuffed in every cranny. It's good to have a passion, but it's better to have passion. Passion is something that makes us vibrant. Passion makes us shine. When we enter a room, it's easy to spot people who have passion. They look light; their faces glow.

I once attended a class on insurance. I felt alive when I entered the class. The teacher made that dull topic infinitely exciting. It was clear he had passion for the class, but it was more evident that he had a passion for life. I drank it up. While others grumbled because it was a mandatory class, I couldn't keep a smile off my face. The final day of class arrived. I was sad it was over. After the last word was spoken and the students bolted for their escape, I slowed gathered my belongings. The teacher called me over. "Anne, I don't think I've ever had a student in my class that I have enjoyed teaching as much as I have you." I was shocked. I've carried that message in my head for 35 years. His passion for life touched me in such a way that he placed an indelible sweet spot in my heart. I don't remember his name, but I do remember his passion.

One might ask how to develop passion. Though I may not have the answers, I have my answers. I've found these things turn on my passion for life.

Anne's Recipe for Passion

  1. Do things I enjoy. This week we went to the annual RV show in Houston. It is large, and we look forward to it every year. We make a day out of it, and we talk about it for weeks before the day arrives. One would think we were waiting for Christmas. "Just three weeks until the RV show." We had no intention of buying an RV at the show, but we did pick up some tips for our RV and we met interesting people. What fun. We make a big deal out of some of the simplest activities and anticipating them percolates us. Part of participating in the pleasures of life is doing small, pleasurable activities.
  2. Exercise. I feel the energy moving in my body when I exercise. Exercise is God. God is movement. God is dynamic, and the thing that makes every form is movement. If there's not movement, there's not form. Exercise, in the form of intentional movement, makes us feel good. It aligns us with infinite flow. When we feel good, our passion for life returns.
  3. Do something I am passionate about, that's easily available. I love to write, as we've already established, but I also enjoy making videos, creating art, and listening to music. I love to take my original quotes and feature them in a creative way. I wear out my iPad making those quotes. I can make videos anywhere, with my phone or iPad. I even have a small box with supplies for doing my pen and ink work. Trolling the Internet may bring pleasure, but it is often a way to just pass time, rather than to give ourselves the space to enjoy a personal passion.
  4. Listen to speakers who turn me on. Passion is contagious, and I'm always turned on when I hear great speakers. I listen to Marianne Williamson, Michael Bernard Beckwith, Gangaji, Rabbi Rami Shapiro, and others. I love YouTube. We entrain with others, and listening to their passion and wisdom brings me into a higher vibration. We need fresh ideas to extend our mind and refresh our cached information.

Helen Keller said, "Life is a daring adventure or nothing at all." I'm astounded that, with her limits, she was such a shining light. What a passion she had for living. When we are caught up in our personal dramas, it is easy to miss the passion around us. When we are interested, open, and attentive, we find that there are a lot of lights. And lights are courageous, because they possess the courage to love, and it is that love that gives them passion.

The above ideas, if used, may not give you passion, but they will, at the least, make life more interesting. When life has chopped us down, it is easier to lie low and not show up, but when we mature, we realize that it's time to come out of hiding. When we decide to show up, the thing that makes life worth living is passion. Whether it a passion for a cause or the passion we have for life itself, passion makes life a daring adventure, and when we have passion, life is EZier and EZier.

  Healthy Living

The Anne Act

The power of words not only makes us who we are, their power contributes to a cultural narrative that affects all life. Let's be generous in our words. We can make a difference in our lives and make a difference in others' lives. Though we must back up our words with actions, the change starts with speaking the word.

I now pass into spiritual law: The Anne Act.

We exist; therefore, it must be right for us to exist. The Universe makes no mistakes; therefore, we are not a mistake. We are here to experience big and play big, so it is easy for us to let go of any struggle about self-care. There is no limit to our imagination, so we can always imagine new, different, and easier ways to care for ourselves.

We claim our rights to creativity, to possibility-thinking, and to being the best version of ourselves. We are highly pleasing to ourselves and others, and we thus let go of straining to be better and claiming our downfalls. From now on, we fall up.

We are so fulfilled, safe, and abundant that we call into being a world that provides an even playing field for others. We see everyone drinking-in the divine. People lay down their weapons of assault, especially those of hatred, judgment, and despair. Governments dialogue with each other, and we see one human family that works together, to provide health and happiness for all life forms. I set this into law and let it go into creation.

Use the Anne Act or make up your own personal act, such as The Jim Act, the Henrietta Act, The Act of Human Power, Insight, and Compassion. When we begin to contemplate words from a higher calling, the Universe then provides us with opportunities to put our words into action. Whether we make a difference to the mail carrier or to a large group of people, we can all make a difference. It starts with using the power of our words, and when we do, everything will be EZier and EZier.

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let's create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let's use money as it's meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don't need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance.
