  The Anne Report

The Anne Report

Dear ,

We are home and settled into the house selling and into the still-hot-in-Texas mode. When it’s still in the 90’s at dark, you can feel the warmth, and it’s not emotional warmth. It’s the “take your breath away” kind of warmth. A friend recently returned from Mexico. There was no air conditioning in the town where she stayed, except at Walmart and a few other department stores. She said she would rather be in her home in AZ, with her AC, than to be in a slightly cooler climate without AC. When she returned home, her first thought was, “I’m so glad not to be hot.”

When I grew up, we had no AC. We didn’t even have a window unit. We slept with a fan at the foot of the bed and a wet washcloth beside us so we could sponge off. We loved our garden hose, and one of the favorite times was when we ran though the hose water spray. We created a personal water park.

How we handle the heat tells something about how we handle our lives. If we are going to faint, then we need to do something, get cooled off, but if our sole reaction is to complain and stay irritated, then we have veered off course. Life’s roads may be bumpy; they literally run hot and cold, and how we adapt and react provides another training ground for our spiritual muscles. Can we stay true to who we are, even in the face of life’s discomforts?

Anne at the Beach

We spent Tuesday at the beach. There were two downpours that day, but we had time between each downpour to have one of the most amazing beach days ever. We watched schools of small fish swim by. There were thousands of fish. If you look at this video, you can see what they looked like. Though they were in the water, they looked like the bird videos of thousands of birds flying in patterns. We saw four kinds of fish and at least three kinds of birds feeding on the fish. They were in clear, foot-deep water. We left with our faces aghast. We had never seen such a spectacle. Wednesday, we packed up and escaped Hurricane Darian. And that’s it for the Anne Report.

A Love Letter to Life

I recently received a request to write about the meaning of life. I silently laughed as I read the question. Where was Socrates when I needed him? But I don’t need Socrates to have an opinion, and, of course, Socrates, true to form, would expect me to answer the question myself. That’s the problem with philosophers: they want to stimulate thought, rather than generate and provide information about the what if’s, the how to’s, and the meaning of life’s questions.

The question is inconsequential, in my opinion, because there is no meaning to life. Does that mean I’m a cynic? Does that sentiment suck each moment dry? I think not. My take: we provide the meaning to life. The more we remove our programming and hidden beliefs, the more life itself emerges as that which is majestic. Each momentary slice of life is perceived differently, depending on the filters through which life is viewed. Life means nothing, just as a rose has no meaning, but a rose is beautiful and has a place in the circle of life. I may not think that life has meaning, but I deeply appreciate it.

Some say that life is Maya. It is an illusion. The world is a dream, but others think each moment is sacred. Everything is holy. There are only extraordinary moments. I believe both theories have merit, and that we can experience both the illusion and the sacredness of everything. We are multidimensional beings, after all. Spirit and human, all wrapped into one neat package, and this amalgamation leads us down multiple paths of reality.

This may skirt the question, but I’ve put my thoughts about life in a short letter. After all that life’s given me, it may be time for me to be honest about my feelings. I’m in love.

A Love Letter to Life

Dear Life,

I want to thank you for all the opportunities you provide, the people you place in my path, and the extraordinary panoply of sights you offer. Even now, as I see people leaving the planet and watch our precious mother earth being destroyed, I feel your hand on my shoulder, blessing me, bringing joy where there was sorrow.

Thank you for the amazing, tantalizing people who guide me and ride with me, and for those I am allowed to guide. How astounding that a chance encounter can turn the tide of my life, and that the tide moves intentionally in each moment. I am in awe of your wonders, of the uniqueness that illuminates my way, of the choices and the possibilities that light the sky of my Being. How can life continue to arrange itself in one continuous blessing? How can my good endlessly oversee each moment? Yet it does. There is a miracle at every corner, but the greatest miracle is that I can see! I can see what undergirds the surface disruptions and experience the essence of life. This is realty. This is the wonder of living.

With love, admiration, and Gratitude,

Anne

I may not believe that life has meaning, but I do believe that meaning has us. Meaning lights on our perceptions and brings with it the grail of understanding. It’s the grail of transformation, not information, and for this, my only reaction is to give thanks for my blessings, and I do. With gratitude and wonder, hand in hand, life can only become EZier and EZier.

Retaliate or Respond with Compassion

I’ve been receiving threat emails from different people who have one of my old passwords. It used to be my primary password, but now it is only used for sites like a forgotten quote maker app. The blackmailer says he has a video of the porn sites I’ve visited and will release them to everyone in my contacts list if I don’t send a certain amount of Bitcoin to his account. The last blackmailer used the name Broderick, which is, of course, bogus. He used a different language keyboard, and by the way it read, he probably used an online translator.

These porn scams seem to be the hottest thing now, as I no longer receive requests from Nigerian people who want me to handle a five-million-dollar estate. I know there are no videos, that I haven’t been watching porn sites, and that he can do me no harm. I usually delete these kinds of emails, but his time I decided to reach out. I am sad that we live in a society that produces people who are so desperate that they feel that they must take advantage of others. This was my reply to him.

Dearest Broderick or whatever your real name is,

While I have used that password for some accounts, I don't currently use it. I hope you are able to find a better way to earn money. You may want to watch the movie, The Secret, for some good ideas for earning and receiving money. I hope you can find a career you really enjoy and one that that you are proud of. I am seeing for you the very best future possible, knowing that your past must have been quite miserable to bring about a career of dishonor. May you be happy. May you be at peace. May you be fulfilled. May you be loved and respected. May you be admired.

Blessings to you,

Anne

I don’t expect to hear anything back from Broderick, but there is a hope that this will reach him and that he might feel love’s alternative. Years ago, I heard Sister Helen Prejean speak, and she related her experience with a death row inmate. She instructed him, “Look at me when they give you the injection. I want the face of love to be the last thing you see when you die.”

I hope the Brodericks of the world find peace. I pray they find happiness, and I hope we as a society find compassion so that we can be that face of love. When we chose retaliation over love, we always lose, because all unkind acts we offer, even if they are just in our thoughts, affect us, and the effect is not a good one. Retaliation is based on the need to preserve the personal ego and we can do better than that.

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches them becomes a part of the prosperity team.

You can also join the Prosperity Team by watching Anne's Dr. Money channel.
