  The Anne Report

The Anne Report

Dear ,

I’ve been watching the soap opera, Days of Our Lives (DOOL), on and off, since I was a teen. I used to keep that under wraps. It was embarrassing to admit I watched a daytime soap. Now I just blurt it out. If watching a soap opera makes me a dullard, I’m as dull as can be, unenlightened to boot. We seem to hold a stringent standard for what is spiritually cool and what is suspect. Watching television may be a waste of time and it might make my mind mushy, but I will admit, I watch TV.

There were years I didn’t have a television, but eventually I bought one. I remember a client saying that she watched TV on Thursday nights. I thought it was a great idea to have a TV night. I chose Sunday night because there was a movie on Sunday evenings. When I decided to purchase cable TV, I was concerned that the fee would strain my budget, but I excitedly signed up, non-the-less. That was eons ago, and though I don’t now have cable or satellite, I do have YouTube TV. I don’t watch live TV these days, but I remember laying my head on my mother’s lap and watching cowboy shows, soap operas, and Captain Kangaroo.

All this said, I’ve watched so many DOOL episodes that they feel like my family. There’s nothing more fun than to talk with another Days fan about the current plot and who’s with whom. Saturday was almost a dream come true. A friend and I traveled across Houston to see the DOOL cast, and we did get to see them quickly walk past us, but then we were lost in a sea of people. It looked like an airport during inclement weather. We stood in a queue for more than two hours to get an autograph from the cast. Unfortunately, it became apparent, that with only two hours left before the signing event was over, that we weren’t going to make it to the front of the line; not even close. This is the time that the spiritual axiom, “It’s all in the journey,” comes in handy. We chatted with some nice people in line, and my realtor, who was my fellow Days conspirator, and I learned a lot about each other. We headed home discussing how we should have arrived earlier!

From the brief glances I got of the stars, they all looked gorgeous. There were times I got a glance of them an they looked happy, seeing a mall filled of adoring fans. I felt like a child attending the fall county fair. The air was electric with awe and anticipation. There were people of all ages and races, several wheelchair-bound, and a lot of security. Their fans loved the cast, and though I didn’t get a one on one, it was fun to join the celebratory event. I wish we all had an audience like that, standing in line to tell us how much we are appreciated and cherished.

We head out today for South Carolina. I’ll be conducting a couple of trainings and we will see our grands. It’s a two-day drive, and Jim, Lucy, our dog, and I will travel for hours to see our favorite little boys. And that’s it for the Anne Report. Nothing exciting or insightful here, but now you know that I’m a DOOL fan, and I expect I’ll get a few emails telling me that you are DOOL fans too!

You Had It All the Time

During one of my Unity speaking engagements, the music director sang a song I loved. I ran to her after the service, “Who was that? What is the title of that song?” When I heard the artist’s name, I laughed. I had most of this artist’s songs already. Sure enough, when I checked my iTunes, there was the song. “I had the song all the time.” You might want to hear it too. The title is You Will Do Amazing Things by Jana Stanfield.

That experience alerted me once more to the “I Had It All the Time” principle. Renée Zellweger made a similar line famous when she admitted to Tom Cruise, “You had me at hello.” That meant that right at the beginning, without him having to say or do anything else, she already had what she needed to let him into her heart, and really, she had it all the time. She never stopped loving him. You could see her love even before he spoke. He did not have to earn another chance. His chance was waiting on the table for his arrival.

In the late 80’s I used to video record my speeches every Sunday. I would put off listening to them because I was so critical of my performance. I expected perfection. I couldn’t bear to listen and be disappointed. One day, a few months after a certain talk, I decided to give it a listen. I was shocked. The day of the talk I was so discouraged about my talk. But that day, when I listened to the recording, I cried. My talk was sweet, vulnerable, and epic, all at the same time. The message was more than good enough; it was inspiring. I cried as I watched because I wondered how anyone could deliver a talk under that kind of internal criticism, yet there it was, greatness, humility, and grace. I could see that “I Had It All the Time.”

I didn’t need to improve my speaking abilities; I just needed to accept that I would not always be perfect. I needed to allow myself to be human. I needed to accept that I would mix tenses sometimes when my train of thought switched tracks in mid-sentence and that I would leave out something I really wanted to say. In later years I had a coach who told me, “You can’t fool me. I’ve heard you speak. You can play little in your mind, but I will never buy it.” Again he would repeat, “I’ve heard you speak.” I’ve memorized his words and I play and replay them.

Over the years I’ve worked with clients who want more for and from themselves, but when I look into their souls, I can clearly see the principle at work: “You Had It All the Time.” “Look at what you’ve been through. How do you think you’ve come as far as you have? You Had It All the Time.” Mostly I get paid to remind them that they are where they want to go, to remind them that they Had It All The Time, and that greatness lives in and through them, especially now; no exceptions, no questions asked. This is the immutable truth, and it this the truth for you too. Just as you are, with or without concepts, in an imperfection that grows from your greatness, aligned with your quirky impatience, your insanity, and your sweetness, “You Had It All the Time.”

Though you are not sitting across from me in this moment, you are my charge. I hold you in my heart and say these words to you. “There is nothing missing. You are not missing in action. You have what it takes. You are here, now, and that is enough. And, of course, never doubt it: You Had It All the Time.”

Get It Done: The 100 Game Plan

Do you put off things? Are you overwhelmed by the complexity of your tasks or the lack of time to maintain your life? If so, this is for you. It is the simplest EZosophy plan ever. It is designed to bypass the tendency to suffer about life’s maintenance. This method shines best when used in clearing clutter. It is not only EASY; this technique is magic. It is a productivity game, and if you play it with pizzazz, it will suck the suffering right out of your activity. Ego Driven Suffering is that inner whine that starts when we think about cleaning, clearing, filing, and throwing things away.

Playing games, like the 100 Game Plan, is the perfect way to put the egoic mind in its place. Who doesn’t love to play? Don’t answer that; work-a-holics abound, but making a game out of life’s chores brings us into the game of life. We can play the game or suffer through it, but remember, there’s always an EZier way.

Okay, Merlin, time to get started. Yes, stop reading and try this on some stack of papers or an area of your office or home. Clean up the kitchen. Clean out your pocketbook or briefcase. Just do it now. Don’t put it off. This only takes a few minutes, and it may be your key to a deeper level of emotional freedom. Start counting out loud, from 1 to 100. Do it very slowly. The trick is to get as many things done as possible in the time it takes you to count from 1 to 100. I often hold the count to be longer, so I can get more done. It is amazing how much clutter you can clear in just a short amount of time, while having fun. Keep clearing and counting out loud. Do not get caught in complication. If you don’t know what to do with anything, skip it. Time is clicking and challenging you to gild your accomplishments with ease.

I hope you tried this, because if you did, you just made your life a little EZier, and, with the false belief that hardship lurks in every corner, it’s the perfect skill to perfect.

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches them becomes a part of the prosperity team.
