  The Anne Report

The Anne Report

Dear ,

Last week I watched a YouTube program. I’m fascinated by the shows on abandoned houses. It’s a quirk, for sure. One of the shows featured a luxury spa. The narrator said that a James Bond movie was filmed in the quite lush, but now abandoned, spa. Which movie was filmed there? I went down the rabbit hole. I perused the James Bond movies, couldn't figure it out, but decided to watch the first James Bond movie, “Doctor No.” I was shocked to see that it was filmed over 57 years ago. Am I that old? The movie was lame, compared to today's movies, but sweet in some ways – the innocence of a simpler world. The major chase scene featured Sean Connery, as James Bond, and the female lead, Honey Ryder, played by Ursula Andress, running down the beach, then through the woods. The other chase scene showed Bond being chased by another car. It was almost funny. It was so contrived. The scenes were tame compared to today’s action films. I don’t think that category existed 57 years ago.

The chase scenes in today’s movies are so nerve wracking that I fast forward them, if I’m alone, or tell Jim to call me when it’s over. I leave the room or shut my eyes and cover my ears. I’m sure the lead actor will survive. It’s like the day everyone watched the twin towers come down 15 times. I prefer not to get my adrenaline fix by watching the same scene that permeates our current movies over and over.

I went to the movies last week. I’m older and can’t hear as well as I used to, but I forgot my earplugs. And had to put my fingers in my ears. I wonder what’s afoot that makes us want so much drama. Do we need more intensity; more volume? Someone thinks so. What gives? One has 20 choices when purchasing tape. No wonder many people are turning to meditation and mindfulness. Others are turning to drugs. And remember chocolate, fried foods, and sugar. We are being driven crazy by the intensity and speed of modern-day society. That’s why we need EZosophy. We need to withdraw from the speed, the anger, the opinionated divide we find in our country, and the complexity of living. We need to choose peace, calmness, and rest, because when we do, life becomes EZier and EZier. Remember, we don’t have to join into the intensity. We are at choice. Our bodies, our minds, our hearts do best when at rest.

P.S.: Unity of Houston rocked on Sunday. It was the 100-year anniversary celebration. With celebrities like Congresswoman Shelia Jackson Lee and Ricky Byers, from Agape in LA, we jammed. A lawn party after the service featured a great band, and I danced, with other celebrants, for more than an hour. And that’s it for the Anne Report.

Grow Up: Wake Up

When I was young, I thought I would be famous. There was no practical reasoning for this assumption, but as I recently looked at my baby book, I saw one entry, “She will be famous.” I must have read it at some point, then forgot. Yet somewhere, in my hidden memories, the seed was planted.

We believe that we operate from personal volition, but how many seeds were planted in our minds by others? Was my drive to play on the world scene a reflection of that one sentence? As an adult, I sought attention. When others ran from cameras, I leaped forward. Maybe this was my moment; I was always camera ready, but it seems I was taking my cues from a seven-year-old sister who wrote in my baby book.

Our lives are not ours until we examine the seeds and weeds planted in our mind fields. The seeds are decisions made from shoulds, woulds, don’ts, and dos. Our lives are erected thought by thought, until we wake up. Waking up can be exciting, but putting the beliefs that built our stories aside is daunting. There were many kings and queens in the story of me; the royalty included my parents. The story of how great they were was difficult to release, even though their lives were strewn with mental illness, addiction, and dishonesty.

I hold no animosity toward my parents, but seeing their lives without rose colored glasses, unhinged my world. Maybe that’s growing up – seeing what is, without casting blame and judgment. It takes strength and courage to grow up. Now. I thought, I can relax. I was floored to find that we don’t reach the finish line when we grow up. Wasn’t it enough to dismantle the structures of my life? No, we have to grow up, then wake up. Geeze. When will it end? When will we find freedom? What is freedom anyway?

Allowing what is, to be what is, is freedom. Arguing with reality is fool’s play, and we will lose the argument – every time. Yet, that’s what we want to do. We want to fix and argue with reality. But in the end, it looks like all this growing leads to one road. It’s the road of surrender. It’s the road of release. We have to let go of the known and embrace the unknown. Sure, we can plan what we want to eat for dinner, but we cannot plan how to be in each moment. We can’t protect ourselves using the predictable controlling guidance of the ego, and we can’t be out for ourselves. We must surrender to the higher way, even when we don’t know what that higher way is.

The older I get, the less I know. It’s not a mistake; it’s a choice. It’s grace not to be saddled with needing to figure out everything. Corrie ten Boom, the famous Holocaust survivor, tells a wonderful story. When she was in the concentration camp, she got a cold. She prayed for a handkerchief. Later that day a friend handed her a paper wrapped package. It contained a handkerchief. Her friend made it from a torn sheet. She felt strongly she must take it to Corrie. Can you imagine being a prisoner? Little food; no power? Yet this Dutch woman, Corrie, one who was imprisoned for helping Jews escape, used her experience to grow up and wake up. She awakened from the horror of her circumstances to a deeper truth.

I heard Corrie speak when I was young. She told about one German officer who was especially cruel to her sister, Betsie. She was in Germany when she saw the man approach her. Scenes of horror ran through her mind as she prayed, “Let me be able to forgive him.” She greeted him without malice and ultimately forgave him. Being awake to her deeper self, allowed her to do what few manage to do, forgive her oppressor.

We are called by our true self to be more than adults. We are called to be the hand of infinite love. We can’t rest with being able to pay our rent or go on a luxury cruise. We can’t stop after our exercise class and think we deserve a rest. There is no rest for the heart. When it awakens in our selves (self), we must answer the call. We are the saints of the present moment. The ones of time past are dead. It’s up to us to be more than the seeds and weeds that were planted in the soil of a young child’s mind. We must become the gardener and attend to our lives and surroundings. Growing up got us to the river, but waking up built a bridge to the other side. And when we cross to the other side, life rises up in a new way. We take our place in the land of consciousness, where the past is laid to rest and the present pulls us along its gold-paved streets. It’s a journey, from growing up to waking up, but when we meet the challenge of our life’s journey, everything becomes EZier and EZier.

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches them becomes a part of the prosperity team.

Life Hacks From Annie

I am 71 years old and even though our bodies are constantly renewing cells, some of my cells are stuck in the past. New cells carry old memories; therefore, we are bound to the past. Given that unsettling information, my body thinks it has sciatica, scoliosis, and a wonky neck.

Rather than whine about my cells not cooperating with the changes they should be making, since they are new, I do what I can to bypass my limits. YouTube is my health guru. If there’s anything that needs fixing, body included, I call on my guru.

These following techniques have been so helpful to me, I wanted to share them.

Atlas Alignment: I have a wonderful chiropractor. He is 82 and in excellent health. He is old school and does atlas adjustment. I have been to many chiropractors and he is no doubt the most knowledgeable and best by far. My atlas goes out a lot. Since I’m not going to see him several times a week, I wondered if there was a self-adjustment or exercise I could do to help my atlas stay in place. I found one. It is easy, safe, and nonintrusive. Check it out on YouTube: Atlas Self-Healing Rocking Technique (Neck, Head, & Neurological Healing) - Dr Alan Mandell, DC.

Scoliosis: I was born with a crocked back. As I’ve aged, it gets me into all kinds of trouble. Pain, that is. I haven’t taken this lying down. Yoga is helpful, but this one video was a Godsend. Thomas, of of my five-year-old grandsons, was exercising with me one morning. I put on the exercise video. Austin Goh, the video star, is from Asia; maybe Vietnam. Thomas says, “He’s speaking Spanish. He sounds funny!” I had to explain what was going on. It’s amazing how a few minutes a day can make such a difference. Check it out on YouTube: How to fix scoliosis naturally in 4 minutes a day.

Sciatica: Sciatica pain. Harrumph. No fun. It’s beleaguered me on and off for several years. Last summer the pain lasted about four months. Recently, I ran across the following video form Dr. James Vegher that takes me from pain to sane. It’s so simple one would think it could make no difference at all, but it does. Last week I was walking in the woods and I started having pain. I laid down on the ground twice and did this move for relief. Even though it wasn’t permanent relief, I did get relief. This morning, before my yoga, I had some pain. I did this simple move and I was out of pain! One Movement for Instant Sciatica Pain Relief.

It’s amazing how a few minutes a day can make such a difference. How to fix scoliosis naturally in 4 minutes a day.

Maybe you don’t have one of these conditions, but if you have any physical problems, check out my guru. She has answers, exercises, and entertainment. You may not be able to heal your condition, but most conditions improve, and life is much EZier when we feel a little better. Health is not a spectator sport!
