  The Anne Report

The Anne Report

Dear ,

I returned Saturday from SC. I had a great two weeks with my grandchildren. Watching them process information is a joy. I gave each child a dollar bill. Thomas told me he could not take it. “Why?” I queried. “Because I only get money when I earn it.” Me, “There are two ways you can get money. You can earn it or someone can give it to you.” He holds out his hand, takes the money, and thanks me. Next he tells his mom, “I just got a present pollard.” Thomas then examines the bill. “That’s a picture of Washington, D.C. on the front of the one pollard bill. He is dead.” I was almost sad when his dad told him the picture was of George Washington and his mom told him it was a dollar bill, not a pollard bill.

Wouldn’t it be great if we felt the same sense of preciousness a grandparent feels for their grandchild when the child makes a mistake or misunderstands a concept? We tend to feel stupid when we make an innocent mistake, don’t perform perfectly, or don’t understand something. There’s a song whose lyrics speak to the innocent nature of mistakes: Oops, You made a mistake. I’m beautiful, beautiful.

Until we learn to live with our mistakes, it’s hard to live with our successes, because our self-worth is tied to our performance. If we believe that we are a mistake, then when we make a mistake, it activates our negative belief about ourselves. If we believe we are stupid, mistakes become painful. It’s important to heal the belief that we are a mistake or that we are stupid, so we can let ourselves off the hook. We can’t and don’t need to do everything perfectly. When we allow ourselves to be human and make mistakes, without self criticism, then life becomes EZier and EZier. And that’s it for the Anne Report.

Mind Mastery

Early in our spiritual and emotional development, we become aware of the run-away mind. It has long been referred to as the monkey mind. The mind twists and turns in endless prattle, going nowhere. It dances to misfires and blunders. Sometimes it sneaks to its destination, but other times, it races like an obsessed junkie. This mind exhausts us; it drags us down and pulls us around like a dog tied to runaway horse.

The idea that “The mind is a great servant, but not a good master” is a fundamental principle in spiritual living. Many think of the mind as the brain, but the mind’s outer limits are semi-permeable and our expanded mind functioning is tied to creative intelligence. The parameters of the brain are limited, but the mind has no limits. The direction of our thoughts changes as we open our minds. We move from thinking and creating from the brain, to downloading thoughts and inspiration from Master Intelligence.

Spiritual practice, at its best, moves from personal mental hell realms to heaven on earth; at least that’s the promise. I practiced and meditated, and created a rosy reality, and certainly still do, but it was only when I began to realize the uselessness of much of my thinking, that I was willing to go to a deeper level. And, surrendering to a deeper level, necessitated making choices on how I focused my mind, required eating a diet that supported a quieter mind, and demanded physical movement. The mind is tricky. It has its ways, and we can’t tune into the essence of our being if we sit on our mental, spiritual, or emotional buts and butts.

I have my ways too, and I love certain practices that tend to calm my body and heart. This favorite, simple practice is adapted from a Deepak Chopra technique.

Just as our mind habituates itself to drama and the lack of focus, we must create a habit of focus and calm. Try this process in the morning, upon awakening, and at night, when drifting off to sleep. I also use it in the middle of the night, when I can’t sleep, and during the day, to settle down my mind.

Find a quiet, comfortable place. Imagine the center of your chest as a still pool of water. See a drop of water hitting the pool. The drop represents a spiritual principle. There will be at least four drops into the water. The first drop is love, then peace, harmony, and finally laughter. Breathe in, and on the exhale, see the drop of love falling into the still pond. Imagine concentric circles moving across the water. Continue with a drop of peace, harmony, and laughter. Once the process is set in the mind, just the thought of four drops into the water has a calming effect. Expand the practice by doing four sets of each heart sutra; love, peace, harmony, and laughter.

Peaceful people are peaceful because they have learned to live life in a non-reactive way. They have done the work. A calm mind is non-reactive mind. Living fresh, without hindrance from life’s learned fears and phobias, is mental and emotional freedom. The mind’s harvest is a result of the harnessing of the mind. It is not so important what we do to tame the mind, but it is vital that we do something. The mind, left to its own devices, spirals downwards. Until we learn to calm our minds, we live in emotional turmoil, but once we find a way, any way, our lives become EZier and EZier.

This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches them becomes a part of the prosperity team.

You can also join the Prosperity Team by watching Anne’s Dr. Money channel.

  Healthy Living

Healthy Loving

Our health is our responsibility, and the words we tell ourselves have a tremendous effect on our bodies. Every cell in our body has a natural intelligence that responds to our outlook on life. If we believe that life is hard and there is little to look forward to, our cells go to work to get us out of the situation, but not in a good way. The subconscious mind starts killing us off, cell by cell, organ by organ, and system by system. If we think life is an inconvenient series of mishaps and all we can do is get by, we suffer a slow, steady, physical and mental decline. When we live in chaos and mayhem, the deterioration is swifter. We head to the finish line of life with fervor. It’s all unconscious, but, by now, we know that most of our power is in the subconscious decisions that live themselves out in our lives.

We have more power than we know, and when we are ill, we need to ask some important questions, if we want to reclaim the path of healthy living:

  • Why don’t I want to be here?

  • What am I trying to get out of?

  • What do I think I am guilty of?

  • What are my most depressing thoughts about being alive and growing older?

These questions can be addressed through contemplation or journaling. The answers give us clues as to why our bodies are creating illness or degeneration. We need to take our worst fears and most life denying decisions to the Source and surrender them.

The following life-affirming statements are powerful words for our bodies. They are body love-tion. We were created to be super humans, but we slumber in ill health and believe our bodies will slowly and systematically destruct. We need to flood our conscious and subconscious minds with thoughts of miraculous health and well-being, to nourish our cells with new thoughts, words, feelings, and beliefs. Whatever we nourish, flourishes.

I step into the universal template of well-being and let my body renew itself, restore itself, and rejuvenate. I turn back the hands of time, and my cells return to an earlier, healthier time. I feel the restoration of life at a cellular level, as all beliefs and attitudes harmonize for radiant health. I relax, knowing fully that my body is healing and whole-ing itself. I know that my body brilliance is alive within, and I tune into my natural health and choose to live a healthy and fulfilling life. I affirm that every atom in my body responds with an affirmative choice for life. There is a wellspring of love passing through me, blessing every part of my physical and nonphysical body. My mind is at peace and works in gentle ways, bringing only thoughts of love and approval into my body. I am free to be happy, knowing it is safe for me to exist and to be fully alive. Therefore, each micro-particle of my body relishes in relaxation, renewal, and rebirth. I am the embodiment of my cellular cell-a-bration of life. I attract all the resources, ideas, and attitudes that keep my body radiant and healthy. I give thanks for the radical renewal of my body. I am at peace, and I rest in resplendent health. And it is so.
