The Anne Report
Dear ,
Though I do not like to talk about the weather, I will make an exception. This week’s weather was beautiful in Summerville. We had temperatures in the 70’s and 80’s, which provided the climate for bicycle riding, garage organizing, beach going, and planting. Sun, after days, if not weeks, of cloudy weather, makes it seem as if heaven turned on its lights. Everything is better.
Thomas and Reynolds spent Sunday with us. When we were driving them home, and passing the Ashley River, Grandpoppy explained to the boys. “If we got in a canoe, we could ride all the way down the river, and get to your house.” Thomas, “How long would that take?” Grandpoppy, “Probably two days.” Thomas, “Then you would need a got.” Grandpoppy, “What is a got?” Thomas, “A big boat that has bedrooms in it.” He had the right idea, but, of course, he meant “yacht.” I still smile when I remember that he said that Washington, D. C. was on the one pollard bill. That was a couple of years ago. And, as Art Linkletter said, “Kids say the darndest things.”
Last week’s main article ended with a lovely prayer. I credited it to myself, since it was in my notes, with no author credited. It is common for me to have my original poems, prayers, and musings in my notes. I rewrote The Lord’s Prayer, at one time, and mistakenly thought this was my rewrite. I had a hunch to look the poem up and found that it was not mine! It was too late to change the newsletter, so I will just say, it was an accident. The poem is a translation, or maybe a transliteration of, The Lord’s Prayer in Aramaic. Please excuse.
And that’s it for the Anne report.
Main Article
Life as a Mystic
I often ask myself,” What has touched my heart lately? What has made me want to shout from the rooftops and gather the missionaries of the soul?” And I answer, “It is the feeling of well-being that I want to shout about, not any specific idea or belief. It is the presence of a flower, the Presence in a flower, the rich dirt, or the sun casting shadows in the field. These things wow me.” Yes, there are profound moments, induced from an illuminated movie or invoked by a powerful song, and life provides revelation after revelation, yet these messages from beyond do not rob the moment of its glory. Every moment, without anything added, is splendid. The mystical moment is not time-based; it is eternal. That is what makes it pop!
When one reads Rumi, the 13th-century Persian poet, or Mirabai, the 16th century Hindu mystic, one can see that they, too, knew the secret of life. It is all here. It is before us. Consider the poem below. If one has not met the magnificence of the moment, then it sounds like the view of a three-year-old. Remember looking at a young child viewing two bottles caps rolling, as if it were the most captivating event in the Universe? Yet when we read this with the mystic heart, we, too, light up with causeless joy.
A Limb Just Moved
You taught Your songs to the birds first. Why was that?
And You practiced Your love in the hearts of animals
before You created man.
I know the planets talk at night
and tell secrets about You.
A limb just moved before me;
the beauty of this world is causing me to weep.
[Translated by Daniel Ladinsky]
The mark of the western seeker is to look for something that will make life magnificent, something that fills in the missing blanks of the past, and makes the future appear like a shining temple of peace. Unfortunately, it is the journey that keeps us chasing some idealized version of enlightenment, while missing what lives before us.
When I was in my twenties, I knew a woman who read Ram Dass’s book, Be Here Now. She was profoundly touched, so much so that she turned her life around and started marching to the beat of her self-constructed, campy, and original drum. She threw away the chains of societal expectations. She affected her husband, and he caught this vibrant way of living in the present and in the Presence. They sold their city home and moved to the country. They gave up seeking and striving. They lived in gratitude for life itself. They were happy with their new life, and, to make life even sweeter, she became pregnant. When she was in her eight month, she was in an automobile accident and both she and her unborn child were killed. It was tragic, yet it was fortunate that she had moved into the true realm of living before she passed away. That one book lifted the veil from her life, and she moved from one who was looking for the secret of life to one who just lived life.
We are propositioned by life in each moment. It is a proposal that most refuse, but sometimes, in a moment of grace, we respond, just as my friend once responded. But until we do, we can be assured that all is well, and that life’s invitation is ever standing, and, knowing that things are the way they are supposed to be, since they already are that way, makes life EZier and EZier.

Abundance Affirmations
This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight video for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches those videos becomes a part of the prosperity team.
