The Anne Report
Dear ,
I think we have moved to the Amazon Rainforest. When I was in the Amazon Rainforest, I do not think it rained as much as it has been raining here. It has been a bit convenient, because our air conditioning went out and the rain brought the temperatures down from scorching feel-like temperatures of 118 degrees. As luck would have it, and I admit I am the luckiest person in the world (name it and claim it), our granddog’s sitter fell through, and we were able to spend our days in her well air-conditioned home. Dr. Money (AKA as me) always asks us to claim this possible reality: “I have what I need when I need it.” This doctrine forms the metaphysical covenant of trust with the Universe and keeps us from obsessing about the future. This affirmation forms a guiding light. And who doesn’t need a bit more light?
I purchased another wicker chair last week. We now have two on our front porch. And they are not for show. We use them. We live in a neighborhood where people sit on their front porch. I do not remember sitting on a front porch since I was a child. Grandmama Sermons had a front porch, and it was my joy to swing on the front porch swing while my grandparents sat and dipped snuff. I used to sit and dream of siting on a front porch when we lived in The Woodlands. I guess dreams do come true.
My daughter told me that her friend recommends the Netflix series, “Yellowstone”. Reynolds overheard our conversation and excitedly requested, “I want to watch Yellowstone. I want to watch Yellowstone.” I wondered why he seemed enthusiastic. “Is it a movie about painting stones yellow?” Got to love that kid. And that’s it for the Anne Report.
Main Article
Who’s the Matter With You?
Alice Steadman wrote a book in the 1970’s entitled Who’s the Matter with Me? That powerful title reminds us that what we think about others can be either hurtful or healing to our bodies. People can act caustic, rude, and insensitive; however, we compound the hurt when we continually think of others as hurting us.
When we carry a running internal dialogue about how we’ve been wronged, we suffer. We repeat the same words over and over and traumatize and re-traumatize ourselves. Both our inner and outer conversations can be life-denying. When we tell our story of injustice to anyone who will listen, we add stress to the cells in our bodies. We can get vindictive, feel sorry for ourselves, and use others’ behavior as a justification to stay irritated. It’s okay to tell a story a few times, and take some time to work through our feelings, but reiterating it for weeks, months, and even years, moves the story from the healing category to the bitching category. That’s known as bitchcraft
Healthy Responses
Work through the pain using an inner dialogue. Transformative and healing thoughts don’t involve retaliation. Healthy thoughts come from awareness, not reactivity. The following response can move us from self-pity to compassion for the other. “I would like to release these thoughts and feelings. Even though my feelings are hurt, I know that people who are emotionally hurt, strike out. They put people down. They act sarcastic, and they can be critical. I can let my upset go because what others say to me is more about them than me. Let me think about some of the good things I like about this person.” Then think about anything good you can think about them and notice the burden of upset diminishing.
Set an internal boundary. An internal boundary is something we say in our minds when someone is being less than kind to us. It’s a mental shield created through a series of words that avoid painful remarks. Here’s an example of an internal boundary one might use when someone is unkind. “Even though that person is upset with me, I don’t have to get upset. I have the power to feel safe even when others are angry or act ugly to me. I am safe and centered in the presence of others’ upsets. This can be easier.”
When we continue to think disparaging thoughts about others, we harm ourselves. It doesn’t matter who started the battle; when we continue the upset, we’ve entered the war. Our bodies and nervous systems prefer the easy approach to dealing with people who direct their upsets and shame at us. Let’s take time to deflect the rage, blame, shame, and pain that others send our way, because when we do, our lives will be easier; our bodies will be healthier.

Abundance Affirmations
Join
Dr. Money’s Facebook Group
This group is a place to post uplifting affirmations and thoughts about prosperity and abundant living. Let’s create a right relationship with money so that we feel comfortable about money. Let’s use money as it’s meant to be used, and not as a way to accumulate power or to fill a void. We don’t need money to buy more stuff. We need it to create a world that works for everyone. We want to cast off old beliefs of lack and reclaim our natural state of abundance. Anne, AKA Dr. Money, posts a nightly goodnight video for the prosperity team, and everyone who watches those videos becomes a part of the prosperity team.
