A Note From Anne
Dear ,
I’m on the road today and plan to be back in Texas for New Year’s Eve. While my husband and I are not big partiers, and we like to be home by 10 PM, we will bring in the new year with a few of our friends.
While it’s important to be able to spend time alone, it’s equally important to spend time in community. Studies show that people who have strong communities tend to live 7 years longer than people who are isolated. While it may not be ideal to have cyber connections, they are preferable to having no connections. Today’s technology brings the world and friends to those who can’t get out and those who don’t have visitors.
When we move, and I’m sure that will happen, we will need to find new connections and community. I thank you for being a part of my online community and know you will go with me wherever we chose to live. I so appreciate your kind words when something in the newsletter touches you or even when you disagree.
Wishing you a wonderful 2016.
Happy New Year
Anne
2016 EZosophy Pledge
It’s almost a New Year. We usually think of time machines being something that transports one to a different place in time, but as I get older, I think there may be a time machine that gobbles up weeks and even months. The good part is that I’m not as affixed to the clock as I used to be.
Once, when I was in India, I kept losing track of the day of the week. My day to day schedule, or lack of one, had no activities to use as a reference point for the day of the week. It was liberating not to be time bound. I was happy for the temporary respite from schedules, calendars, and productivity.
Now it’s not unusual for me to forget which day it is. As far as my memory goes, that’s not good news, but as far as not feeling time as pressure, it’s like being emancipated from a time trap. I'd much rather be joy bound than time bound.
Let's use the new year as a way to extricate us from past habits and time limits so that we may be delivered into the wonder-filled present. The first babies born in the new year often receive a prominent space in the local news. Lets be the first born new adventurers into 2016 and hold a noticeable space in consciousness and live out loud.
Each year, as many spiritual pilgrims do, I take January 1st to look back on the old and commit to an easier future. I offer this New Year’s Pledge to you. Would you like to commit to an EZosophy 2016?
2016 EZosophy Pledge
I pledge allegiance to myself and to the spirit of ease, aliveness, and joy. The infinite power and wisdom of the universe dwells in me, as me, and it is with that power I claim my ongoing good.
This year is a year of treasured pleasure. Even though everything may not go my way, I focus on the things that go my way. My choices allow me to live in appreciation, not depreciation. I open myself to more support, more creativity, and to an accelerated sense of well-being.
My life is not a project; it is a party. Therefore I can celebrate at any time. I feel good about ease as a way of life. I always find EZier and EZier ways to perform tasks, deal with others, and handle intense emotions. I live my life in ease and release any thoughts that life might be hard or burdensome.
I am no longer a drama lama. I am an EZ disciple. I give up hard attacks and emerge into deeper and more satisfying levels of ease. YES!
The New Year holds our future in its hands as an unopened present. Let’s unwrap it gently and use our vision to guide us in its use. May we be thoughtful, compassionate, loving, and supportive. May we illuminate the solution that dwells in every circumstance to such a degree that our problems not only dissolve, they transform into a higher state of well-being. May we outgrow the need to have anything be different from the way it is and rest in an undeniable state of peace and good-will.
Happy New Year 2016.

Quotes
There are a million ways to perceive reality. We love to adhere to positive thinking and positive interpretations, but that way of perception is only one of the many life-affirming ways we can see life. Take for instance the following, that helps us place mistakes in a powerful light.
“I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes.
Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new
things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself,
changing yourself, changing your world. You're doing things you've
never done before, and, more importantly, you're Doing Something.
So that's my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself.
Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes
nobody's ever made before. Don't freeze, don't stop, don't worry
that it isn't good enough, or it isn't perfect, whatever it is:
art, or love, or work, or family or life.
Whatever it is you're scared of doing, Do it.
Make your mistakes, next year and forever.”

Want to sleep better at night and feel a relaxing energy flow in your body? Then massage your feet before you go to bed. While one does not want to do regular exercises at night, since they rev you up, some foot massages promote rest.
